“This is a huge brewery with so much seating-tables, booths, picnic style. Very few are even in the sun because they've added canopies. The giant fans keep everything nice and cool. It was 91F and didn't feel that hot at all. The free line dancing ended up being really fun, we were not expecting that happening while we were there. But as they say, "In Rome do as the Romans do." All ages were out on that floor dancing. The beer was great as always. I thought about branching out and ordering the Peaches and Cream but ended up with my usual 50/50 sour. My only complaint about this place is the bathrooms. I wish they had more. There is always a line.”

“Best Pizza in Oakdale. Great service. Steve is a great guy who puts his heart into making the best pizza for his customers. And you gotta try the Buffalo Garlic Parmesan Wings! “I don’t know what else to ask from a restaurant. I ordered the Especial Burrito with chicken by the way. The atmosphere was amazing. It felt very homey, like you know you are in good hands. I believe this is run by a family, and they were very kind. They brought us anything we wanted with a smile on their face. The chips that they gave were hot and you could tell that they were made in-house. The burrito I got looked amazing (as a cheese lover, I was very happy with the generous amount of cheese on it) and tasted even better. I also tried the California Burrito, and they executed the flavors excellently. They had just enough flavors that you wouldn’t get a flavor overload, but enough that your taste buds will be filled with different tastes. Overall, I was extremely satisfied, and if I am ever in the area again, I will come back.”

“Had brunch on Sunday-and fabulous! All your brunch favorites and some with hispanic influence. Plentiful, tasty and fresh and excellent service even for our larger party of 8. Great value and they had a senior menu for those with smaller appetite. Highly recommend for this popular locals spot.”

“The first thing you face is confusion trying to decipher the user-Unfriendly menu. This leaves the worker having to explain the choices and combos to each new customer. Then if there’s a line it makes service take longer. Then there are usually only 1 or two workers. The concept is great! Love the product once I tried it. It will probably streamline as it’s popularity increases.I’d love a caffeine free opt. Maybe the tea opts on the TOP of the menu( since it’s a tea world) not ice cream. ?trying to be helpful not critical cause I like this idea in Oakdale!!”

“I've been driving by this place for years and seeing the big 40 beers writing on the roof and if you've seen my reviews, you know I love me some beer. So I finally got a chance to stop in, and I was pretty surprised by what I found. The inside had a fair amount of seats, in a couple of sections. The Bartender was great, and the beer menu was really good. Admittedly, I don't think there were 40 beers currently on tap, but it was 20+. And the food menu was Fire. I ended up with pastrami reuben, cause that's what I do. And it was good. Good ratio of meet, tasty pastrami, nice and cheesy. Super solid. My wife got the turkey melt and she was over the moon about it. Per her, "they heated up the turkey", which I guess isn't that common. So she loved the sandwich and said she wants to go back. So yeah, I think we're going back :)”

“What a great find, we are from out of town and decided to stop there for breakfast. The service was over the top, they were so friendly and always on top of everything. Then after going over the menu I decided to have lunch (my wife had breakfast), and the food was excellent, I should've ate only half of the steak melt, but it was so good, I ate it all. Would definitely come back again, kudos to the staff!”

“We stopped here for lunch last Friday after my friend ran a quick work errand in Oakdale.It's a historic bar from the fifties, so it was dark and dated. At first, we did not feel welcome, maybe because we're not regulars. No one was rude, just dismissive.My friend and I had patty melts with fries and a cup of bean soup. I don't think I've ever complained about patty melts. It was perfect. The fries were fresh and crispy too. The bean soup was okay, about a 7/10.Our server perked up and was so friendly by the end of our lunch. We loved hearing stories about the place and some of the history. It was heartwarming, and we love seeing family businesses succeed and the next generation take over. When our server asked if we liked clam chowder, we said yes, so she quickly returned to let us try a sample. This was the best clam chowder we've had, even better than Sam's Chowder House in HMB! A 20/10. It was so creamy, with big chunks of tender clam. We ended up ordering more to go. My husband was also impressed when he tried some for dinner. I finished it two days later, and it was still amazing!”

“We stopped at Bamboo Garden for the first time on our way back from a weekend trip to Yosemite. We ordered Vegetable fried rice, Buddha vegetables and Broccoli in Garlic sauce. “We are camping and wanted a no-cook evening and landed on pizza and beer with our friends. My husband is a Round Table guy all the way, and I had trouble convincing him to try the local fare. But my friends came in clutch and we won by a vote of 3-1. The pizza was excellent..great crust, sauce, and generous toppings and portions, I have dinner tonight too because of leftovers. Too bad my husband ate all his, hehe....friendly service too. Highly recommend!”

“I was at this restaurant yesterday afternoon. I waited on promptly. Ordered the steak off of the senior menu. One of my sides was baked potato. When my meal arrived I had mashed potato's with gravy. I told the waitress I had ordered a baked potato and she told me they were out of them would this work. I said yes since it was sitting in front of me and I shouldn't have since I am not suppose to eat this type of food. I feel I should have been told they were out of baked potato's and to choose another side or maybe even a different meal. This is not my first time there but the first time this happened and I really wasn't happy about it.”

“I've never had a bad experience. Always friendly, knowledgeable, great manners, usually prompt with service but on an accession or two when they were slammed with customers I've had a short wait but during that time they with have a light-hearted conversation making the wait seem shorter, and eager to help. The one complaint I have is when they're out there in line taking orders and cars that showed up long after I was there were being served before me. That happened mostly when they opened up although it can and will and does still happen from time to time. Overall a good experience.Parking: It's a shopping center so it has a lot of room to park.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes they have that.”

“As a long time hot dog lover, I recently discovered this awesome roadside food truck called "El Hot Dog Street Dogs" In Oakdale Ca. They offer up a unique blend of different signature hot dogs, burgers and chicken sandwiches. The Items on the menu that I have personally tried and would order again were....."The El Hot Dog,"**** The Chili dog"**** The Flaming Dog"**** Spicy Chicken Sandwich*** Phillycheese Steak**** The Mushroom Swiss Burger. “I took my family for dinner here when visiting. The space is beautifully done. Everyone loved their dinner...we had the special sea bass, chicken parmesan, shrimp and grits, pizza...they were all delicious! For appetizers we had the beef carpacio and the Thai mussels. The Thai clams were some of the best things we ever had. The broth was complex and layered. The wine list was small but had some good offbeat wines like Cakebread Cellars. I understand this is a new owner for this restaurant...great first impression for me! Thank you!”

“This place was a home run. It was my first time here. When we got there we asked if we could bring food in since they didn’t have a kitchen. They were totally cool with it.We went with a flight. It was a cool display cause the holder is the shape of California. We really loved the beer selections. Everything was fantastic. I love the choices of stouts.My buddy and I were talking at our table about how much we liked the beer. The owners came over and introduced themselves to us and thanked us. They even bought us a beer to boot which was a nice surprise.On the way out I got a hat because I like the swag options. Give this place a go. It’s totally worth it.”

“Delicious food truck! The first time I came here I got the Bobby burrito with Al pastor and shrimp. It was fresh, delicious, well seasoned and the flavors melded well together. The next thing I tried was a California burrito with carnitas. Wow! Some of the best carnitas I've ever had. Definitely come try this place if you want to try a new food truck in the area. They are parked across from Whitmore park on the corner of College and Bowen in Modesto. Very friendly staff. Gave us a sample of their Aguas on our first trip and it's a must get every time now!”

“Delightful sandwich shop in Downtown Oakdale. Easy to spot from the street. It was a warm day or else we would have enjoyed out sandwiches on their nice patio. We ended up taking them to a nearby brewery, win win! Great service! Our sandwiches were made fresh and quickly. We loved both sandwiches we tried , Philly cheese steak and an Italian. Love the decor and setup. Would love to visit again.”

“Honestly this is the best Chinese food I've had since I left the Bay Area!! This place is definitely a pearl! It didn't look like anything special from the outside and it needs a paint job but don't let the outside discourage you because this place is very special. Everything was fresh as could be and seemed very authentic, I'm not Chinese so I can't say one way or another but as far as I am concerned it beats all other Chinese food spots I've tried in the Central Valley, the atmosphere and aesthetic's inside are very pleasing! We got the combo "A" plates and both plates were huge and we couldn't finish our meals! For both plates and two drinks with tip was 38 bucks that's unheard of this day and age! They left us a whole pitcher of ice tea which was very fresh, all the veggies were crisp/fresh nothing was over sauced/seasoned. The service was awesome too! Don't second guess yourself and there's a reason why this place is the highest ranked Chinese spot in Oakdale, shoot I'd drive from Modesto to eat here it's that good!!”

“I wasn't sure what to expect from a place called "House of Beef". The name definitely makes the mind wonder. Upon entering I was shocked to learn that they have a deli. Pleasantly shocked. Upon being seated the shock continued. In an age of inflation everything was reasonably priced. In addition to the meal I opted for a side salad from the salad bar...it's all you can eat? From the prices to the deli to the salad bar I felt like I was in a time warp or some alternate reality. Did I mention the service was great? I think 3 different people checked on us, that's 2 additional people other than our server. Again-alternate reality? Places like this don't exist anymore. This place is definitely a must. I almost don't want to rave about it, keep it a secret out of fear of its popularity growing and never being able to get in - but they deserve their accolades. We are in a period of hyper inflation and some restaurants believe they can do the bare minimum while still charging high. Great food. Great service. Will definitely be returning and bringing friends.”

“We love Denny's, every once in a while, we go down and have something good! My husband and I for Thanksgiving went down to Denny's and had Thanksgiving dinner, it tasted really good and we got to really enjoy each other's company! If you want some down home food that taste good that's prepared well go to Denny's! My husband heard me giving this review, he said we should go down there and have something ! They were generous with the tuna. Doesn't come with cheese and I forgot to ask to add it. Avocado sando: hubby really liked this sandwich. Roast beef sandwich: daughter said the meat was salty. Odd... Salami sandwich: daughter liked this. They even gave us some apple sauce and chocolate chip cookies.”

My partner and I both ordered burritos and typically, I never expect much from a food truck as they’re hit or miss. However, the birria surprised me. Whenever I’ve ordered birria in the past, it’s been greasy, dry or overcooked. This birria was not that, it was moist and flavorful. Not only that, but the overall burrito was fresh and lacked nothing. Plus biting on their grilled jalapeños and squeezing lemons into the burrito pair well. I would definitely come back again to try more of their extensive menu. They have plenty of options for everyone, from tacos, asada fries to birria ramen.”
