“Ok so Shawarmaji has all the makings of a restaurant that’s about to get BIG.Incredible, authentic Jordanian food, cool clean and colorful aesthetic, and expanding literary as I was eating in the restaurant (new location coming pictured here across the street). Got the chicken shawarma arabi style and WOWOWOWOW, so good. The trio of hummus, toum, and garlic suace was utterly divine to go with the wrap and fries. The home made pickles on the side were also perfect freshener to cut the heaviness of the meal.Went just before lunchtime to beat the rush as it’s a popular lunch spot for people working in downtown Oakland. Only downside of the experience was that as soon as I ordered, the food was ready. Like the food had already been prepared in advanced and was not all the way hot anymore. I get that they need too stay ahead of the lunch rush, but stomach eventually got rocked. No regrets as it was a very good meal, just keep an eye out for that. I’m would have happily waited longer for HOT food.“

“Do yourself a favor and run don't walk! The Karahi is made to perfection with slow cooked meat and pieces of ginger that give a nice textured spice to the dish. The Chicken biryani has caramelized onions folded in for pockets of sweetness. The chicken Makhni is a classic butter chicken that never misses. Their cheese Naan is gooey and delicious! I've ordered delivery and dined in before with no change in quality.“

“Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my GOD Oaktown Kabob is my new go to SPOT for the most amazing and authentic Afghan cuisine in the East Bay. I absolutely love their Chapli Burgers here and I also tried the combo plate that comes with juicy tender chicken kebob and beef skewers that is absolutely to die for. One you put in your mouth you will start dancing like Michael Jackson may even get high on it.This place just opened up I guess a few days ago and they are already very busy and I'm sure soon there will be a line here and I'm sure it will be worth the wait. It's a small family owned business and Farzad one of the owners was very welcoming and had a huge smile taking my order and was cracking jokes. I'm got addicted to their food once I tied it. He sure wasn't kidding and I will be heading back Sunday to take my family and order their Lamb shank that he promise it will make me wanna order another round once I try it. As long as they serve this kind of delicious and flavorful Afghan food I will be a life time customer.Wishing all this family owned restaurant a huge success and I'll make sure to let all my friends and families know about Oaktown Kabob. “Honestly 10/10 for everything! The food is amazing, my go to is the lamb haneeth or chicken mendi. The service is very nice, the waiter always greets you with a smile and is extremely kind. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. Each table has its own booth with a tent like cloth for privacy. Its a great place for family and friend gatherings. Highly recommend!“

“This place is located in a very inconvenient area however the wrap I ordered from here was very very good and probably one the best wraps I’ve had. I ordered the lamb shawarma wrap which came with a hefty amount of lamb. The other filling was lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and yogurt sauce. Alongside the wrap it comes with hummus and side salad. All the veggies were super fresh and crisp which surprised me! I say surprised because everything else is sitting out on warmers as if you were at Subway ordering a sandwich. Some items looked like they were sitting for awhile and I ordered my food/visitied relatively earlier in the day. That threw me off a bit and I wasn’t expecting much from the wrap but it shocked me. Very tasty and I absolutely would order it again!“

“I've been meaning to try Dave's Hot Chicken for awhile after seeing their LA and Denver locations! Went to a show at the Paramount Theater and walked over to Dave's. The menu is pretty simple with their different order packages (Sliders/ tenders with sides). Went for the number 2 which comes with 2 sliders and a side of fires. It's cool you can pick two different spice levels for each slider! Got the Mild and Hot to try ($16 total). The Hot is bearable and you won't be dying for water (it's Extra Hot or higher that will get you to that burn feeling!) You can also order some of their sauce and honey to add on to your sliders and it's bomb! The fries are also cooled perfectly (and you can immediately dig right in without it burning your fingers or tongue). I'd definitely come back here!“

“My babies dad likes to take me here sometimes for something quick and good ,their fried fish ,shrimp ,and chicken is good very flavorful they’re greens are preening good too especially to be vegetarian they are very flavorful. I’ve had their bean pies and their sweet potato pies. Pretty good as well. Definitely will help you if you’re having a fried food craving.“

“Took longer than I wanted, but I'm more impatient than most people and my falafel wrap was definitely definitely definitely worth the wait. Everyone who works there and the regulars are outstanding folks. Very lively shop and if you need something they don't carry, they'll probably get it for you for the next time you come in. Keep this local business alive, folks.“
