“Make sure to get there in advanced or put your name down on the wait list, they don't accept reservations and the wait can be easily more than an hour. That being said, it is well worth it. The broths here are immaculate and the cuts of meat are very high quality. Sauce options are plentiful and tasty, and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommend with large or small groups, or even alone!“

“Came here on Sunday evening and it was busy! There were not a lot of staff working so their service was on the slower side. But the guy who was taking care of our table was really nice and he was very accommodating. There was a good amount of meat for the price however we had to pay separately for the soup per person and also pay for the sauce, fruits and icecream which became pretty pricey. Overall really enjoyed the food but on the pricier side. It's a great place to eat with a group of friends or family“

“I've become a regular at Chef Sha in San Mateo, and every visit reaffirms why. The menu, brimming with authentic Szechuan dishes, brings a symphony of flavors to the table, each dish more fragrant and delightful than the last. It's the perfect spot to unwind with friends, with its relaxed setting that encourages lively conversation over plates of their exquisite hot pot and specialty dishes. The prices? As friendly as the atmosphere. You'll leave with both your palate and wallet feeling satisfied. Whether it's the spicy kick of their signature dishes or the comforting warmth of the hot pot, Chef Sha knows how to deliver happiness in a meal. Can't wait for my next visit!“

“a solid shabu shabu place to go to! shabuway is a small restaurant with quick service and a simple menu! we came right at opening and got seated right away, but the wait definitely built up fast on this saturday night! they have tables and bar seats, and i'd recommend the bar so each person can have their own shabu pot! we did the a la carte large american kobe beef set, and it was honestly so worth it for the price! the vegetables were all my favs, and the miso soup had a good amount of flavor! my parents thought the beef was a bit too hard, but it was still okay overall. this is a fairly simple restaurant but perfect for satisfying hot pot cravings!“

“My partner and I wanted to eat hot pot and Shabu Shack was perfectly located near our place. We went in around 8:30pm and were seated pretty quickly. Staff was attentive and quick. The atmosphere was clean, organized, and open. Between the two of us (and we weren't outrageously hungry), we shared: a large Kobe beef in medium sichuan spicy broth, Kobe fries, and potstickers. I also had a lychee soju beverage, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Overall we enjoyed all the the dishes. The hot pot broth (medium special sichuan) was yummy but a little too punchy and spicy. I might opt for mild or a different broth next time. The large portion of beef was the perfect amount between the two of us for being not too hungry. My partner really loved the Kobe fries. Overall, I would totally come back again. While I felt it was a little pricier (paid a total of $85 and we could have went to an AYCE hot pot for about the same amount), I enjoyed the meal, service, and close location. If you're in the area, I'd recommend you try this spot.“

“I'm almost reluctant to give this place a good review because it's a best kept secret. It gets busy but not overwhelmingly busy. And rightly so. It's a great restaurant with great food and great value. I guess try it yourself if you like hot pot, but please, for selfish reasons, don't make it explode on social media“

“It's all you can eat. All fresh items are in the refrigerator, and you go and grab what you'd like. There isn't much waitress help because you grab your own things to cook. She just came and took our order for the soup choice and brought our sodas. It's clean, and even as we seen people leave, she sprayed and disinfected the table and area.“

“4.5/5 stars Might be the best hot pot spot in the Bay Area. Service was pretty good and they stayed attentive. House special spicy soup is loaded with flavor. Went with medium level as this broth can get quite spicy. Duck was our other base and wasn't nearly as flavorful. Lamb was surprisingly better than the beef. Spice from the broth complimented lamb much better. There was so much flavor that sauce was not even needed! Also, Chinese donut w/ shrimp paste are a must y'all ready know! Beef tongue wasn't too special. Fried rice with beef was bommbbb. Honestly might've been the best fried rice out of all the Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. Every grain of rice was coated with just the perfect amount of oil. Braised pig trotter was immaculate. Fried to a perfect golden color on the outside to a soft tendony inside. Seasoning on the side is a must to top it all off. Best tendon/collagen meat I've ever had!“
