“Tonight I decided to venture out and try this restaurant my family has been RAVING about called Al’s Cafe in Downtown Elgin! I sat upstairs and had this lovely server named Marcie! She recommended the monthly special called “Moonstruck” and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The ambience, service and food is unmatched! “This is an awesome cool small shop I would recommend to any ice cream or shaved ice lover. This is the best hang out ice cream shop downtown. It's so cozy and nice. I think it's a little small, but I like how there is outside seating with a bike rack nearby. Workers are lovely, and prices are pretty reasonable. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Palatine.“

We usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are very friendly. Troy has made us some great cocktails. I recommend Coffee Shop After Hours with mezcal (or vodka), cold brew and cocoa bean. The Rye Old Fashioned is really good. The Bloody Mary (only served during Sunday brunch) is outrageous with that slider on top! They have a decent beer selection also. The prime rib special is delicious and perfectly cooked. Rocco burger is good too. We enjoy coming here place. You will need to be mindful of the hours because they're not typical.“

I can't believe it took me this long to try Sarpino's, especially as a vegetarian! -- I ordered delivery one night (directly through their website) and was excited to have another vegetarian friend over so we could try some new stuff! We ordered the create your own (CYO) and I added the plant based pepperoni and sausage and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I literally want to eat this at least once a week going forward. So dang good! I saw they also have a lot of vegan options too, so you can definitely venture outside of just pizza - but the pizza was bomb, so why fix something that's not break? 12/10 recommend. (Also didn't get any pics cuz we inhaled the pizza too fast, sadly!)“

“The energy and vibe at night is really high. The bar is full and there is lots of seating. We sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender right away. My husband ordered a Guinness Draught Stout and it was really delicious (not bitter at all) and I just had a sip of his and just drank some water. I am not really healthy enough to have an entire beer. When we ate here last time we signed up for the rewards program called 360 and on this visit we get a free pepperoni or cheese pizza. We also ordered the Chips, Pico, and Queso as an appetizer. (It was just ok this time... the chips were stale) They play uplifting music in the background that makes you want to get up and dance. There are 12+ TV's all across the room tuned into the different popular sports channels. This is a great place to come and unwind or people watch. We love the beer and pepperoni pizza! Will definitely be back again soon!“
