“Every morning I'm in a coffee shop, working remote, both at home and during my frequent traves. this place is fantastic! weird parking and tiny space threw me off at first. but immediately the vibe, employee kindness, and amazing vegan (and I am not vegan) food made me quickly forget about the parking and limited small space. love it! “After a great dinner, we walked around checking out different shops and looking for a cookie to take back to our hotel. It was our first time in Asheville visiting friends who moved here over a year ago. This was a very popular spot for an evening snack. They had all the classic pastries that you’d hope for, including cheesecakes, key lime pies, cookies. We were pleased and came out with one pastry and 2 chocolate dipped peanut butter cookies. They were fantastic!“

“Parking: During certain times of the day it's hard to find parking due to most residents parking near the restaurant, there is parking across the street at the school but I wouldn't recommend parking there especially as school dismisses because you will be stuck there.Kid-friendliness: I saw school aged children and toddlers as well. Plenty of outdoor seating, I also saw a few doggos sitting outside with their humans.“

The taste was delicious (wedding cake flavor), the cake was moist, and the icing and raspberry filling were AMAZING! I would 1000/10 recommend her! You will not be disappointed! Just do it! Oh, and let’s not forget her incredible cookies we had for favors! They were a huge hit! We did chocolate chip and oatmeal ! I had a family member ask where the oatmeal cookies were from because “it was one of the BEST oatmeal cookies he’d ever had.”! Thank you so much Wendi!“

“What a fantastic find in a renovated jailhouse with outdoor and indoor seating and board games to keep you occupied. You walk in and order at the counter and the food is brought out almost immediately. Service was friendly and patient. All four in our party ordered a Smash Burger to their own liking and everything was correctly brought out. The bread for the burger was soft, the meat tasted delicious, and everything was on point. Would recommend this small town hole in the wall to anyone passing through Marshall!“

There was also a doggie dining menu for our pup to join us for dinner w/ some rules. 1) no dogs on your lap. 2) No feeding your dog from the table. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. “We had mixed feelings about Avenue M. The hot cheesy artichoke dip was one of the best things we've ever eaten and worth a trip no matter what else. I would definitely go back for that. I had the smash burger and my husband had chicken wings (we had some difficulty finding something enticing on the very small menu); they were good and acceptable but that's about it. The ambience is one of those (now outdated) industrial style restaurants which I find cold and noisy when crowded. Service was very attentive.“

Unfortunately, since moving to their new location, they have been getting more and more expensive. The fare stays the same but the prices get higher. The food, however, is fantastic. You’ll just feel the hit on your wallet as well as the one in your stomach!Vegetarian options: Extremely vegetarian and vegan friendly. There’s no meat on the menu!“

We got the cheese plate appetizer and the shared the baby lamp chops plate. “We come to the pub EVERY time we are visiting Asheville and they NEVER disappoint! The bartender Jose was very attentive and rocked service for us. He has a great personality,managed to serve our party of six, accommodate us perfectly as well as taking equally great care of all of the other patrons. Award winning jumbo chicken wings, the Cuban is killer! We also had gyro's and they were spot on as well. Fried pickles will be scorching hot when you get them but they are sooooo good you won't want to wait to dig in! but wait a few minutes trust me! Jose makes amazing drinks and goes with the flow even when every beer he goes to pour the kegs blow, but he had wonderful recommendations for alternatives. “The food and service were fantastic! However, the reason I will return every time I visit Asheville is not actually food related. The owners fed their employees and their families the entire time they were shut down for Covid. The owner’s husband is involved in many global humanitarian projects. While I was reading the Cantina’s historical wall display, the researcher responsible for the wall came and spent about 20 minutes chatting with me about the area’s history. I was moved by life work of the people associated with the restaurant and will return in support of goodness in the world.“

“We had a delightful meal for a reunion of sorts. I chose Laughing Seed because only one of our party of six is a vegan, the rest "omnivores." We each ordered something different from the menu, and everyone loved their meals. I have eaten here several times before and always enjoy the great food and the pleasant ambiance. Our waiter was gracious. He was patient as we all gathered and caught up with each other. He was kind enough to take a photo of us at the table and was thoughtful enough to suggest taking another photo by the mural after our meal. Table photos are always awful, with the people in front huge and the ones in back tiny. So I appreciate that he volunteered to get a good photo of us all. A nice momento of a wonderful evening.“
