“Went here based on the recommendation of a local. I must confess I really hadn’t a clue what to expect with Tibetan cuisine. While the service and atmosphere were only average, the food was good. Sadly I can’t even tell you what we ordered as we went of the numbers on the menu, but we had a good assortment of food with some fun flavor profiles. If you’re in the neighborhood it’s probably worth a shot.“

“We ordered delivery from this restaurant. Portion size is good. Price is good. Packing is good.Ordered a take out veg meal which had 1 appetizer (chose Ragda Pattice which was good quantity, good taste), 1 main (chose malai kofta, very tasty, 4 balls), 1 portion of rice, 1 naan (soft and warm when it arrived), 1 dessert (chose kheer, very less portion but good)Also ordered chicken karahi, which came with rice and gulab jamun. Chicken was tasty but it was hard.Vegetarian options: Plenty of veg options“

“Came on a Friday night and it was not too busy. We ordered the volcano momos and the goat curry set. Enjoyed the variety of small dishes that accompanied the goat curry and rice, including the potatoes, papadam was amazing, pickled radish and the yogurt dessert. The momo fillings were nice, we hoped that the volcano soup is more hot and spicy.“

“The vibe was so chill and welcoming. The service was on point, super friendly, and attentive. Talking about the food, it was next-level delicious! Momo, Tea and chilly aloo was superb. The flavors were so authentic and just exploded in my mouth. Overall, 10/10 would recommend. Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!"“

“4.5 and rounded up! $8 for 8 delicious steamed Tibetan beef momos - lotsa delicious filling, the dumplings were large, juicy, yummy. I got an order to go at around 7pm on a Friday evening and it took about 10-12 min for it to be ready. They're a small mom and pop shop with only about 10 seats in the front entry area (though it looked like they brought some momos to another area around a wall/down or upstairs(?) so I'm not totally sure if there was more seats). Waiting for my order to be ready, the staff were kind enough to allow me a seat in their small restaurant to sit while I waited. Momos seemed to be the menu item of choice as I saw people dining in and taking out mostly ordering some variety of these (steamed, fried, in soup...). My order came freshly steamed and very hot so take care when opening the container if you're eating it right away. They come with two sauces, both btwn mild and medium spicy (relative to the general level of American food that's labeled spicy--which is not very spicy). I enjoyed both, one was slightly sweeter than the other. If there was one thing I wasn't too fond of was the amount of oil dripping out when I bit into each momo. I think it was mostly beef tallow that dripped out when the meat was steamed, and meat didn't taste super oily or anything, in fact it probably made for tastier filling, I just couldn't help but notice it. That being said, I'd def come back and try some other momos and other dishes too!“

“The food was good..we went there with our family. Even though the food was good the server was really cheap. We had to wait for a good while due to which we decided not to tip but one of the waiter came to us and ask if we gave tip or not when we said no she reacted in a cheap way saying everyone should tip. We do know that we should but only if the service is good. Dear management you should talk to the servers about it..“

“Enjoyable Tibetan food with nice service in a quiet and decorative ambiance. The restaurant was also spacious, so it's good for groups! We tried both Tibetan and Sichuan food here. The Tibetan dishes included Thenthuk, sour & spicy sliced beef with enoki mushrooms), beef momos, and tingmo (twisted flour bun). The only Sichuan dish we tried was the classic braised spicy fish fillet with Napa cabbage. I thought the Tibetan dishes were all delicious and comforting, but the Sichuan dish was not as good as other Sichuanese restaurants. I enjoyed dipping the tingmo into the sour & spicy beef dish, and the momos had a nice amount of soup in them! The servers were helpful with explaining the dishes on the menu, too. Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu!“

“Such a quaint cute place! I love the atmosphere for lunchWe got 3 plates: MOMO veggie, thenthuk, jhasa katsa, and the dessert yomari. The drinks (imli raas and jaal jeera) were very good and sweet!I like the exterior texture of the MOMO but maybe I'm just a bigger fan of meat so I think if it was filled with chicken/meat, I would've enjoyed it a lot more. Nevertheless, a great starter. Then we had the thenthuk--WOW. So good! The noodles are thin square-shaped but they're ao chewy and perfectly boiled. I like the broth: it wasn't too overwhelming and the saltiness of it was just right. Meat was great. (Rice would've made a great pairing). Very homemade feel to itThen we had the jhasa katsa served with a steamed bun. Again, spectacular work on the meat. the chicken was so sweet and spicy and SOFT. Love bell peppers so ofc the bell peppers were a nice addition. Not a big fan of the yomari dessert. I think they were trying for a mochi-style dessert; if so, the rice flour shuold be more hewy and harmonious flavorfully with its inner filling. All in all, a great dining experience“

“The best (or second best) beef Momo I've had in Jackson heights so far. The beef Momos (5/5) were filled to the brim, beefy, moist, filled with broth, and packed with taste (strong beef and cumin flavor without being too gamey). For only around $8 it's very cheap for what you get. Highly recommend!“

“The Shakam Datsi was incredible! I never had a dish so balanced with sun-dried beef strips with cheese, veggies, and spices. The atmosphere is great. If you are into trying new cuisines like me, this is a must on the list ! Thank you Pema for the welcoming service.“

“Let me start by saying that this is the first place I’ve ever eaten out which serves food that tastes so homely! No extra oil or spice, just comforting, tasty and homely food. The price is great, portion size is ok, no fancy interior but food more than justifies. You should try atleast once.We ordered Wai Wai Sadeko (wai wai chat exactly how we make at home), Chana ko tarkari, goat curry which came with a side of rice bowl, cheese naan and mango lassi.Chana ko tarkari was great but goat curry was way more awesome! We went home happy and full :)Vegetarian options: There is a separate veg section as well as clearly labeled veg dishes“

“Location was excellent right off the 7 train. The food was just like home, especially the Nepali combination platter fish and chai, which I absolutely loved. It really brought back wonderful memories. A special thank you for making us tea at 10:00 pm—it was the best tea I've ever had.P.S. If you order the fish, note that it's not boneless, so take your time eating it?. Also, the spicy sauce for the momo is fantastic.“

“Me and my girlfriend always enjoy getting takeout here. It is tucked away in a quieter part of Woodside and they serve high quality Nepalese food. We especially like the Thali's which consists of different kinds of food on a platter (think Banchan but larger portions). They consist of: protein (typically in a curry), lentils, vegetable curry, rice, raw red onion/lemon/slightly bitter green vegetable/chili pepper. The combination of all of these ingredients make the dish so appetizing as there are different textures and tastes.“

“Phayul exudes down-to-earth Tibetan vibes. While flavors resemble Chinese cuisine, dishes like Lhasa fried noodles, Tsak Sha La Kor Hot, and spicy pork offer delightful aromas and flavors. Owner's use of large images on menus caters to global customers. Tidying up could enhance appeal.“

“Just 4 doors away from the Elmhurst Hospital hides this small eatery serving Tibetan dishes. The exterior is very unassuming. Without reading reviews and not specifically searching for it, I would absolutely overlook this place.Inside is better, small but clean, sporting 2 rows of small tables each seating 4. The counter is situated midway and has some nice ethnic decors.I asked for a menu with the strategy of ordering something that I have no idea what they are. I picked 3 after having the lady explain what they are.It took 15-20 minutes. Here’s what I ordered:#1 Lhasa Liang Fen $5.50. This dish is in the restaurants namesake so in a way it’s a must. It’s a jelly like vegetarian cold dish and is really brittle. I pretty much have to slurp it in. It looked spicy but not so much. Actually a bit in the bland side. If you never had this, you should try once.#4 Stir Fried Thenthuk $9.99. I picked chicken as choice of protein. Think drunken noodle but the pasta is much much more dense, almost like cheese ravioli. After a few bites, I kind of become addicted to this unique texture.#16 Sha Bakleb $8.99. This is more like a meat pocket, or giant fried dumping. With the accompanying red sauce, they are quite tasty and addictive. Came with 4.Service was just meh. The lady who served me didn’t do or say anything to make me feel welcomed.“

“Truly delicious jhol momo. The server even provided us with a bit of broth to take home as we couldn’t get enough. Unlimited masala tea will have us buzzing through the night! If you are coming from LaGuardia, don’t miss this stop on your way into town. Directly across from the Roosevelt Avenue/Jackson Heights station, it was a perfect reminder of the things I love about this city. Small and crowded, with authentic cuisine and beautiful flavors!“

“I've been getting momos from here for at least 7 years. The steamed beef dumplings are my go to. They come with scallion & they're the best I've ever had. The chicken dumplings are good too. The chicken dumplings contain cilantro instead of scallion, so if you're not a fan of cilantro, you should get the beef. The chow mein noodles are pretty good too. I really wish this place would get their own place instead of having to share with Merit.“

“Fantastic experiences at Cafe Tibet! Get their Mango fried rice! And their soup dumplings! Their delicious ? if you're looking to try Tibetan food for the first time this is the place for you! It's super casual and super cute ambiance. Right next to the Cortelyu metro station. Has cute outdoor seating too. The only problem is there isn't a bathroom and their stuff is a bit pricey for the portion sizes which are definitely on the smaller size. Otherwise I love this place and am looking forward to be back ☺️Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options and tofu dishesDietary restrictions: Labeled menu!Parking: It's hard to park better take the Q it's right next to the cortelyu metro stationKid-friendliness: Kid friendly! “We always come and get whole bag of Selroti when we visit NY. No other place makes sel like them. And if you have not had or know what Sel is it’s regarded as Nepali Dougnut but personally it’s something completely different. Chia and Sel combo is the best and this is the place to get.“

“This is a really cool place. The decor is really pretty and tasteful and the seating is very comfortable. The service is very good. The guy working was very nice and gave us good suggestions on what to order. Would any of this matter if the food wasn't good? Good thing the food is delicious. We ordered a selection of items across the menu. All of them were delicious. I'd recommend ordering a selection like we did and sharing. The prices were good too. Really suggest the Thenthuk with pork. Great place! Will come again.“
