“Went with my In-laws this past Friday. The parking was awkward making it difficult to exit to the front of the building. The food, drinks and service were top notch. However, I thought the 3% up charge for using a credit card vs cash to pay the bill was a bit petty due to the already inflated menu prices. This left me wondering; why the owner thought it was more important to cover their $5 cost at the expense of me returning again?”

“Wonderful experience first time dining at The Lake House Kitchen +Bar! Always wanted to try it and todays weather was perfect day. The gals at the hostess station were sweet as could be~ fit me in , even without a reservation! Very sweet.Service was great! Being solo, I was able to observe a lot, and all the servers and workers were pleasant and hard at work! They were hoppin!Crab corn fritters were delicious and I was early enough to get then at the " happy hour" price. Thai Chili Salmon was delicious! Very tasty! My piece of fish was a bit small compared to others I saw eating same meal, but tasted delicious. Even the table next to me commented how big their piece of fish was.Lovely view, I will definitely go back and next time hopefully bring some friends AND make a reservation!”

“We have dined here a handful of times. Yes the place is very dated and could very much use a remodel but beyond that, we have found that the food and service have always been good. It a relaxing place to dine and they have a great outdoor space. Worth a visit.”

“Always super food! Portions are unbelievable and flavor is always good. I loved the fried shrimp. Also tried a bite of the lamb chops, prime rib, surf and turf and the lobster for my family’s plates and everything was delicious. Their lobster is better than anywhere else in my opinion. Simple with butter because the actual flavor of the lobster is so good it doesn’t need a lot of added seasoning. The only thing I did not care for was the sausage but that is because I am not a fan of spicy and it had a little spice to it. The decor is not fancy which is okay with me. I would prefer good quality of food over mediocre food because paying for a fancy atmosphere. Waitress was attentive and answered questions and accommodated my family’s crazy requests and preferences. If you like great food and leftovers the next day this is the place to go in Kent, Akron, Canton or Youngstown. Just make sure to check the hours or call to make sure they are open because hours have been shortened, the waitress said since COVID hard to find staff. Also no credit cards, only cash or check- always been that way for as long as I can remember. I am sure this is to help keep prices down due to all the CC fees. They do have an ATM there but you may have to pay a fee. I always just pick up some cash in the way. IT IS WORTH IT!”

“This is not a fancy place, but the food was excellent! I got the Triple burrito (delicious) and my husband got the steak rice bowl. The helping were generous and the prices are reasonable. We will go back next time we’re in town!”

“The BEST bubble tea in Kent 100%!! I have tried a lot of bubble tea as it is one of my favorite drinks, and theirs is by far the best. The Thai milk tea and brown sugar milk tea are my favorite flavors they offer. The tapioca pearls are perfectly cooked and sweet as well. I love that you can get a regular or large size too! The prices are great and the workers are always very quick and friendly. I do wish there were more vegetarian options when it came to their food because I’d love to try some, but as for bubble tea, I will keep coming back!”

“Daisy Pops is the cutest cake pop shop I have ever seen! I originally heard about them on the radio and knew I had to stop. I had one of their spring specials, a cinnamon roll cake pop. It was almost too cute to eat but I'm so glad I ate it because it was delicious! The staff was incredibly kind, helpful and super friendly!”

“I had Barbacoa Tostadas and one of the chef’s specialties. Both were delicious and had some of their secret mild and spicy sauce on display. Apparently one of the chef’s handcrafts a new meal for their menu each month. So feel free to give them a try. My own folks loved them. Just remember to add water when ordering.”

“They have great food, but they raised the prices to a point we won't go back! $3.50 for a cup of coffee! Our breakfast bill used to be around $20, last Sunday the same breakfast bill was $30+! We get the same thing every time! Will miss the wait staff, but can't afford to go back!”

“Why does anyone think this is good chicken? I got it last week for the first time and was not impressed. It was greasy had almost no flavor and their dipping sauce is disgusting. If it were crispy and there were additional sauces to choose from it would be tolerable. Considering its overpricedand very underwhelming I will not be back. Also if the chicken "fingers" were any smaller they should be called nuggets.”

I especially love the calm atmosphere and relaxing Thai music, and the owner/hostess is so friendly and welcoming. He was acting like a pro to me with this place telling all about this and that...well, I finally got to the bottom of it. Yeah, he's been there a lot and can tell me how amazing the mac and cheese is....bc that's all he's ever ordered lol.Well, I ordered the buffalo wrap. I added tofu and subbed kalamata olives in place of tomatoes. This was a very fresh, simple and tasty meal. I am not from the area but am absolutely looking forward to the next time I am in. Grazers each day would even help me another way. I stop daily for a kombucha. They have that here, too. Everyone was friendly, and they came out and made sure our food was good while we were eating, which surprised me. The restaurant was very clean as well.Vegetarian options: When I say everything is vegetarian, it is not. But it basically is and you can add various proteins. Great spot, wish there were more like it.”

“First time in Kent. Was just going to stop at Jimmy John's, but then a local recommended this place. I saw that they had 2 bologna sandwiches, so I was sold. I went with the #1, which is bologna and american cheese. Each sub comes with lettuce, onion, tomato and oil & vinegar. I got it without tomato and added mayo. The bread was really fresh and the sandwich was a good size, i think. It could have had more meat, especially since bologna is somewhat inexpensive. Now, in my opinion, oil & vinegar really isn't a good with bologna. It wasn't horrible, but not the best combo. It didn't ruin the sandwich. Just better to do without. I would love to come back and try their fried variety.”

“Clean store with an comfortable and inviting open space, including more than 11 tables that range from 2 persons to 8-10 people long meeting/communal sized tables, allowing customers to sit and enjoy their drinks and or get together with friends to study, even have meetings with Starbucks coffee and food to keep everyone happy. They also have a pair of comfy leather single seats Staffs are professional and efficient, was impressed by the quality of their training. Just to see what the fuss was about Dunkin', I got the exact same drink I usually get, drip coffee with a shot of espresso, honey and cream. And what a difference...! I imagine Starbucks and Dunkin' are both pretty similar in terms of their corporate branding and marketing strategy, and they both most likely have excellent training programs. And the great difference that we experience as customers must come from the people who are on the ground providing direct service to patrons. Good job Starbucks on East Main Street. Last but not really the least, this was the only coffee shop that was open at 5 am so bonus points for that ‍”

Will down there again for sure.Kid-friendliness: One highchair can be clamped onto the tables but only the tables bolted to the floor. The regular highchair can't set on an isle end of a table. “This is the best bar in Kent. It is not fancy so don't think you're walking into an upscale restaurant and don't go late because that's when all the students come out. However, if you want good bar food, a great selection of drinks, and a nice bar to sit at and chat with the bartenders or watch sports, this is the place. “When I went in earlier they were slammed and behind roughly ten people, so they stopped the line for about ten minutes and caught up. All of the employees were super nice and the one who took my order said she was training a bunch of them so it was even worse. Most people would be upset in this situation, but I was actually impressed and thought that they did a great job. I didn't wait too long for my order, even then I didn't mind waiting because I knew they were busy and needed time.”

“Barrio's food is delicious, and they have a lot of customizable options for people who are gluten free, pescatarian, or vegetarian. Service can be hit-or-miss; some servers are great, others can be a challenge and/or don't seem to much care about customers.Most of the time my order is made correctly, but my most recent visit my meal was made wrong. I know the ticket contained the correct info because my friend looked at it before the server took it and remarked upon the particular ingredient that I'd selected, but was never actually included in my dish. Instead I was given a dish containing an entirely different, and quite unpalatable, ingredient.Vibes are decent overall, decor is cool, and the bar makes good drinks. Can get REALLY loud though when full, and it seems like the just jack up the music when it's packed, making it sometimes overwhelming sound-wise.Vegetarian options: Customizable dishes.Dietary restrictions: Also friendly for gluten free and pescatarian diets.”
