Was there Saturday evening with four friends. First time. This is a very welcoming and friendly place. The service was excellent both at the bar and at the table. We were very well taken care of. And everyone loved their food. The soup of the day was Wedding Soup. It was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu items that I couldn't decide on. A group of 14 of us walked into Tavern tonight after Caliente Pizza down the street could not / would not seat us. (Details of that saga in another review The staff at Tavern were amazing. They accomodated all 14 of us with no notice with a bunch of tables pushed together. Service was efficient and friendly. I had the cajun chicken pasta. Chicken was dry, but pasta was excellent. Neighborhood bar. Food was decent, pretty basic, but good.The server, Susan, was fantastic! The bar itself is nice, as I loved the old time pictures of Aspenwall. The fried Zucchini was excellent, and the tavern burger was good. The Reuben was mediocre.
