“We drove out to Glen Rose to watch the Promise on Easter weekend, not sure what to expect The Rooster ? is located on a golf course in a very large barn dominium. My neighbor and I looked at each other and decided "let's" see. Glad we did, menus written on a chalkboard as you enter easy fare -pun intended- we chose sandwiches a chicken and a club with fries, got our drinks and watched the Masters. Dinner arrived with a ? and little fanfare. Tasty, and I was amazed Candice could eat All that chicken my club was awesome ?. Point of interest we arrived at 17:30 only one's there by 18:30 The Rooster ? was packed. Clean, Friendly, and worth your time and ? which was reasonable. Enjoy ?”

“We called in an order and it was ready in 10 min. on a Sat evening. Pleasant staff and very good BBQ Ribs. We especially liked the black pepper bark on the ribs and the sauce was really good. Potato salad, cole slaw and onion rings were excellent. BIG ribs lots of tender meat. Really Hammond's Good Job. Older folks like us appreciate good food at a reasonable cost. Also try the Fried Pie at the Fried Pie Shop on 67.”

“Ordered a bananna split in the drive through with two vehicles ahead of me, after receiving the Banana split, I drove less than half a mile back to my home, only to find that the ice cream was completely melted.I know that DQ is trying to compete with the new Whataburger across the street, but prestaging their ice cream treats isn't going to be a winning strategy.And on top of that, DQ still has better burgers than the new Whataburger and Whataburger can't compare with DQ for frozen treats.So hey DQ, slow down and do it right and I don't think you'll lose that much business in the long run when people get over the initial thrill of a Whataburger in Glen Rose, that is unless you beat yourselves with melted ice cream.EDIT,OK, I've tried calling this DQ multiple times since Friday 03/01/24 to enquire if they're having problems with their soft-serve ice cream dispenser since I got the melted bananna split on Friday, no one answers the phone, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere.The last time this location had service this bad was in the early 80's and I boycotted it for well over 10 years.Adios' DQ!”

“Oh my goodness, y'all! If you haven't tried Tacote Glen Rose, you're missing out! We stopped by this morning, and they didn't disappoint. First of all, you know the Mexican joint is legit when they sell food and also do money transfers to Mexico and South America. Walking in, the place reminded me in every way of being back in Mexico. The music was fast and loud, the workers were dancing in the kitchen together, the atmosphere was bright and festive. And then I tried the food and, y'all, I haven't had a restaurant burrito that good in forever. I had my usual vegetarian choice - beans, potatoes, tomatoes, and avocado. This is a combination that can be incredibly bland at many places. But not at Tacote! Very flavorful ingredients wrapped in a stellar homemade flour tortilla. I'm betting there was lard in the tortilla and beans. Not sure. Don't care. It was amazing. The tortilla was sticky and fresh and dusted with flour and golden - not like the cardboard-and-glue tortillas you get in stores and most restaurants. And the salsas (especially the verde) were spot on. On top of all this, the service was very friendly. Tacote is going to be a regular stop for us!”

“We arrived on Monday morning around 11:45! There were four adults and two dogs in our group and we were warmly welcomed and took a table in the courtyard. The friendly staff brought water bowls for the dogs! Our food was excellent and the service perfect. As we were departing, the throngs of spring break crowds were descending on the restaurant. Sleepy little downtown Glen Rose was no longer sleepy on this day! Looking forward to a return visit to the green pickle!”

“If you enjoy solid grub and solid scenic overlooks this will be your spot! Enter from the main entrance or the quicker 'back entrance' way. The back winds around and then up towards the nature store and inside area where there is a little petting zoo with goats. I really enjoyed coming here on my way home from my trail race. It's a fun stop and you can do it along with exploring Fossil Rim. You can come without checking the park though free of charge. They have smaller single snack serving plate (veggies, hummus, cheese etc) or sandwiches and full meals. The sweet tea was pretty good and they also have hot chocolate for the kiddos, coffees, fountain drinks. Even on a rainy day I saw families and people coming to enjoy the overlook in the back. They have an area to sightsee and get views of the animals from the top. A must see if you are in the Glen Rose and Fossil Rim area.”
