Don't get fooled with the size because they give you lots of noodles. Because of which, there is not much soup. You can ask for extra broth. Which they will give you. And it's actually just right. The other place with similar concept do have a big bowl, in my humble opinion it's the same amount. Though I have to say their beef is sliced a little thicker. The staff are really nice.So when you go there, you order what you want, then you go and get it. Then you get your chopsticks and napkins as well as water.I would prefer this locally owned restaurant! I just love it here!

We had some delicious beef noodles for lunch at Calan Beef Noodle. We ordered Combo A that comes with beef shanks/ seasonal appetizer and tea flavour boiled egg. We chose the thick noodles to go with the (1) Hand Pulled Noodle in Beef Soup and some flat & wide noodles to go with the (2) Hand Pulled Noodle with Pickled Sour Mustard in Beef Soup. The noodles tasted delicious and very appetizing! It was fun to see the chef making the hand pulled noodles right in front of us. This way we know the noodles are made fresh right before our eyes!

I just love it!Calan - it's 2 words merged into 1 cal for calgary and Lan for Lan Zhou. I didnt know I was chatting with the owner. Her husband is from Lan Zhou. This means they know their stuff! That is huge! If you want authentic! Come and support locally owned business!Price is like $15 or $16 don't look at rhe bowl size. Coz it's pack with noodles. Fresh hand pulled noodles!If you are into their soup, once you consume it just ask for an extra bowl. It was given to me for free.The staff is very friendly.You do have to come up and grab your food. Which is fine. Since it's very small I think it seats 20 or less. When I went it was Saturday afternoon and it was ok. I got a seat. My food was ready in a minute. I even got to take a.video of the guy who was making the noodles!.

Last evening I ordered pickled sour mustard noodles, the girl was rude and basically ignore me when I asked for extra picked veggies, her attitude was terrible, she threw it to me in another tiny plate. If it was necessary for me to pay extra for that, I would’ve willingly but the way she treated me wasn’t fair, we won’t come back ??

My first time in Calan Beef Noodle and I loved it. I ordered the thick noodles and I like the chewiness of it. The broth was also good - it tasted like star anise or cloves. I ordered the beef combo with the two appetizers. Delish!
