“The food was truly exceptional! I’d recommend any of their meat dishes, they’re very flavorful and the spice level is perfect. They have a limited selection of alcohol, and the servers were a little reluctant/ unaware of bottle prices. The staff were helpful, but they would forget parts of our order, would mess up overall prices and it felt like there was a bit of a language barrier. “Really nice people and great food. They have a unique spice profile here compared to other Ethiopian in the city. We ordered the Piassa with raw/cooked Kitfo and it was really good. We were full part way through so portions are well-sized. Sister's first time eating Ethiopian as well and is now what she wants on her birthday...Definitely recommend.“
“This restaurant is a total hidden gem!! Amazing food and customer service. She served us a customized Vegetable, Beef and Lamb platter and we added Tbsi. The blend of spice was so perfect and flavourful. Hdmona is by far the BEST and the most traditional Eritrean Food in Calgary. We were impressed about how tasty everything was!!!! Our favourite was Lamb Tibbs and Spinach. Highly recommend and super addictive! Next time I want to try Beef Tbsi and Chicken;-)“
“Me and my husband wanted to try Ethiopian cuisine for some days hence we came here . The owner was a pleasant person, she was the one who was cooking serving etc. Looked like a one woman show which is commendable. We ordered Awaze tibs. It took her around 20-30Minutes to get the order ready. The food was ok but it had some metallic, bloody smell, which is a turn off for me. I like my meat to be cooked well as to not have any smell. Some people can tolerate that smell, I just don’t. The Anjera was excellent.“
