I have been a regular for a few years at HLB, and the staff/space is so lovely. The staff is great, they are kind and excellent at what they do.I have seen them handle difficult customers/situations with grace and kindness. And the ginger beer is amazing! Would recommend anyone to stop in, have a pint or two and stay for the incredible staff.

We were there last night for a friends birthday and received terrible service! The bartender was extremely ignorant and did not make you feel welcomed at all. We were the only table there and he was trying to kick out out at 10:05 because they weren’t busy and he wanted to go home! I highly don’t recommend going to this place!! Worst brewery and worst service I have ever experienced!!

The beer was good but we had one of the worst experiences while we were here in February of 2024. The bartenders insisted we tip them 25% after them pouring us a beer, and then kicked out the table next to us immediately after they sat down. It was unreasonable and did not make any sense. I think they were celebrating a birthday

The staff kicked my friend out, but I was still wronged. I was visiting HLB for my friends birthday and we got in around 10pm. They served all of us, then my friend got kicked out (likely for being drunk). That did not bother me, it seemed reasonable. But they followed up by examining our table and watching for a slip up or a reason to kick out more people one by one. Eventually a server came to the table and suggested the way my friend handled a fork was inappropriate and we should all leave. I’m not sure about the rest of my friends, but I was one of the many sober DD’s. This was rude beyond belief and I believe he just wanted us to leave so his shift would end (after we tipped him). Between this and a previous experience where they refused to split a $140 bill, I’m tired of this place. It’s not worth it, and until they take some version of human kindness seriously I will avoid it at all costs.

The beer was good, one of the bartenders on Feb 3/24 was very inconsiderate and very rude. Because of him and the way he treated the group we brought to the bar. Would never recommend going here. Brewery down the street was 10x better and the staff was about 100x better.
walked in, didn’t feel super welcomed, kind of found myself a seat after a few minutes of looking lost. wish i had been pointed to a seat. sat for a few minutes until i realized i had to go to the bar for drinks. perhaps everything was out of sots due to the live event that was happening. i enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, only critique is i wish they had pointed me where to go because i don’t like feeling lost
