Ordered from their takeout only "ghost kitchen" on 4th street while they build the new place. Miso Ramen was honestly gross. Broth was flavourless, pork was flavourless, Chicken tasted very off. My onsen egg was missing the yolk and looked like a pile of you-know-what. Would not recommend.

Although the place and staff is nice, I did not like it. Noodles tasted like barilla pasta, with big clumps, miso broth was underwhelming, too salty but not flavorful. Pork was not tender, and the egg too runny. (More like almost raw). It’s not my first ramen in the city (and in general), and it was quite disappointing compare to other places I’ve been to.

So disappointed! I was greeted with the smell of sewer right at the entrance. The place was empty on a Friday night around 9:45pm, I should have left just by seeing that. I got the Mushroom Ramen which smelled, looked and tasted awful. The mushrooms werent tasty, the noodles tasted weird and broth was tasteless. The bowl had a unappetizing stench at a first glance. To be honest, you are better off buying cup noodles. I could not even finish it, i paid and left.

Ramen was a good price, and the broth was tasty, but overall mostly noodles with the biggest piece of pork mostly fat. Very simple with a tiny bit of greens and one egg besides noodles and pork. Had to wait 45 minutes for the ramen. Nice place but the dish was pretty boring and I didn't want to spend $10+ upgrading the dish.

I used to come here all the time. I haven't been in a while and ordered take-out tonight, but it was a bit of a letdown. Instead of the usual kale (which is listed in the menu and I paid for extra), they put green leaf salad in the ramen instead without prior warning. The garlic chips were missing, and even though I ordered one of the ramen spicy (again for which I paid extra), both came with the regular broth. I don't know if it was an off-night, but this was very disappointing.

One of the best Ramen in Calgary. We tried multiple others, this one is the best and closest to authentic Japanese ramen. We ordered the chicken, pork, and tried the spicy ramen. We love their chicken chasyu the most. It’s tender and tasty yet it keeps the chicken flavour. I also love their spicy paste on top of the spicy noodle. Shio ramen is very good, さっぱり! The price is good with the total portion. Side dishes are good but the ramen is really the focus. We also like the idea of うなぎ poutine. We went there for more than 3 times in less than 2 weeks. Service was very good too, fast and polite.

I appreciate when a fish and seafood restaurant uses a little bit of bleach to clean the floors and counters . It can get a bit stinky and musty Shen seafood is prepared by the tables .

Maybe this ramen dish was meant to be of a different style and I wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I wanted to. But personally, for me it wasn't good. The pork chasu was tender but flavour didn't come through. Noodles felt very much like the instant noodles. The broth was flavorful enough but I didn't reflect ramen broth to me. I was hoping that the kale and cabbage would be a creative touch and add to the overall dish but they were just out of place. The onsen egg was adequately cooked, however if the eggs used are of lower quality, a marinaded soft boil would have been much more enjoyable. Wait time was too long: we (table of 4) ordered 2 appetizers and 4 ramen bowls and had to wait for almost an hour for the appetizer to come. The mushroom tempura was under-seasoned, I expected to taste more of that truffle oil especially if it wasn't going to come with a tempura sauce. The chicken karage was good and for me, was the hilight of the night. In a nutshell, I think the restaurant has potential but perhaps was understaffed and not prepared when we visited. The food could be easily tweaked to be better. I would want to come a second time to see if things are better done or if it's just the style of the restaurant that isn't suitable for me.

The miso was the blandest noodles I've ever tasted in my life! Even the $2 noodles at Safeway or Canadian superstore have more taste than these and yet this is a $16 meal! I'm utterly disappointed because I ordered this when I was super hungry and had a sore throat. I asked for the spiciest thing in their menu. Waste of my time and money. How is this even a top favorite on door dash for this restaurant? Even the server who took my order on the phone said it wasn't spicy but I did not expect it to be tasteless! Tried seasoning it myself but it could not be salvaged because of all the liquid.

We were there just before happy hour ended so we were able to try both the happy hour and the regular menu. Good discounts on the happy hour menu and I especially like their fried chicken skin. Very crispy but too oily. Perfect with beer! Tom yum seafood was one of their special ramen and we had to try it. The soup base was not super spicy and it was acceptable for someone who doesn't eat spicy food all the time. Seafood was fresh and portion was just right.

Service was amazing, our server was very nice and attentive. We had the miso ramen and the edamame. The edamame was a little bit under salted for my liking but warm and cooked well. The miso ramen was alright, not bad in any way but nothing special. My friend had the Tom yum seafood ramen and loved it, very fresh seafood

I had a very delicious bowl of ramen for a very decent price. The server was prompt and the food was piping hot, the miso broth was amazing and I got them to add some spicy chili it was the perfect amount. I will definitely be coming back here for another yummy dish. Can't wait to try their unagi poutine!!

The Ramen was excellent. The service was great. Food decently priced. Everything was made from scratch. Even when you eat the ice cream, you realize it's home made. Everything is home made. I enjoyed everything, so did my wife and kids.

My brother was visiting from China and had mentioned we had yet to have Japanese food. Not wanting just Sushi, and being in Kensington to get coffee from The Roasterie, I remembered Ikemen. Getting a reservation was easy as the restaurant was less than half filled, we were seated promptly . we were seated at a table that has a bench across the wall on the other side. I sat on the bench. The bench is very wide, so there was no back support and over time I found it hard to sit there. The food was what we wanted. Great Ramen dishes. I had the Green Curry Seafood and it was delicious, filling and very satisfying. We also shared the Chicken Skins (devilishly good) and Brussel Sprouts (possibly the best I have ever had). Service was quiet and reasonably attentive but sometimes we had to catch the servers attention to request more tea or water instead of it just being done. It was a good experience here.

Came here for an early dinner and managed to catch the happy hour that they have on Fridays and Saturdays from 3pm to 6pm. They have some cheap appies and drinks for happy hour specials. We ordered chicken chips, gyōzas, Cinnamon mochi, oyster mushrooms, green curry seafood ramen, and the tom yum seafood ramen. The ramens were pretty good, with the tom yum really bold in flavour and the green curry more mild (definitely like the tom yum more). The chicken chips were pretty decent though it seemed like the seasoning didn't really stick to the chips. The oyster mushrooms were similar style to the chicken chips but seemed to hold the seasoning better. The Cinnamon mochi was really good with a perfect texture of gooey chewy-ness. Overall pretty happy with our visit and can recommend it. Also nice that they have parking in the back for patrons.
