I’ve had Mac and cheese across Canada, across the States. I’ve had Gordon Ramsay Mac and cheese at Hell’s Kitchen Caesars palace. The Lobster Mac and cheese at Black Pearl downtown is the best I’ve had to date.

Second time here and very good experience. Oysters and prosecco at a good price if you eat at happy hour and delicious seafood flatbread. The vanilla negroni is good too. It's a small beautiful restaurant, specially if you love fish.

My brother and I love visiting new places. Unfortunately, this was one of the few restaurants I wish we had never tried. Our server seemed like she didn’t want to be there. The drinks were extremely overpriced for what they were. For food, we ordered lobster bisque, mussels in white wine sauce, lobster ravioli, and a honey nut lobster/prawns/scallops platter. It started well with a pretty tasty lobster bisque, but it went downhill after that. The rest of the food was barely warm. The lobster ravioli looked extremely unappealing; it looked like it was drowned in gravy. The taste was okay. We were very excited for the platter, but it was also disappointing. The flavors just didn’t work together. It tasted too sweet and completely ruined the taste of the lobster. With the tip, we ended up paying over $100 each. For the food quality, I felt like I went to Red Lobster with the prices of a fine dining restaurant. Definitely would not recommend; there are way better places to get seafood in Edmonton.
The service was good and the vibe of the restaurant was cool. My drink was tasty. Butthe food was very underwhelming. It is very over-priced for the quality of food you get. The Lobster bisque was fishy and had a pudding like consistency, I did not finish it - neither did anybody else at the table. Our main courses were also disappointing. The Seafood was not seasoned and flavourless. We all left the restaurant hungry and dissatisfied.

My mother-in-law loves seafood and we wanted to treat her to a special meal for her birthday. We were not disappointed! Excellent quality and delicious food, and the atmosphere was great. Brendan answered all of our questions and was very attentive. Thanks so much to Brendan and the downtown team for their awesome service!

My first time at the black pearl tonight and it was a great experience. Cold SEAFOOD tower was excellent along with our cocktails. The cocktails were very refreshing. The waiter was funny and had great conversations with him. I will be going to this restaurant every time I come to Edmonton. Hands down one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been to. You got to eat here.

I was surprised at the casual pub-like atmosphere of this very expensive seafood restaurant. I always thought it was a little more upscale. I didn’t mind it, but I prefer a quieter dining experience. The Gorgonzola Mussels were very good and paired well with the white wine I ordered.
Always good fresh seafood
