Japonais Downtown used to be one of my go-to Japanese restaurants back in the day so it was quite exciting that they opened a new location close to home. We ordered some takeout and it was so fresh and so amazing! We plan on dining in next time.
UPDATE: Since the original review, the restaurant has offered us a GC in which we were able to give them another chance. This time, we went for supper. Service from the host and server was so much better. The food was still fabulous. We were also seated on the brighter side of the restaurant, which is so much more cheerful. I think it was a mistake not putting in windows as natural light puts everyone in a better mood especially since our winter months has a shortage of daylight.Original...read full review

Dined here with family one fine evening and sampled a bunch of different options. Sashimi, Korean short ribs, tempura and various rolls. Price is a premium. Food was all excellent. Was intrigued by the omakase. Slightly disappointed that my server mentioned a bill could only be split in half. Option to pay with more than 2 credit cards was told no. I needed this for business purpose. Minor inconvenience.
