“The service was phenomenal, however the food was overall not that great. Our drinks and food came fast but the steak was not very flavourful and was little portion compared to what you pay. I know the waitress wrote down the request I had for my meal, but the kitchen still made it the normal way. The roasted potatoes were still pretty hard. I'd say for the portion you get, they are overcharging.“
“Stopped in for late lunch. Service was very good. Took our drink order then came back for food order. Only one other table. Kinda slow but place was very clean and bright. Waitress was friendly and happy. Ordered the starter of calamari. Very good choice. Fried just right. Then came the 3 piece fish and chips. Fish was perfectly fried and hot. Fries also were hot. We also had the one piece cod and chips. Also another two piece Fish and chips. This is one of the better Joeys that I have tried. We all enjoyed our meals. Compliments to the Chef in the back. We will be back next time in Medicine Hat.“
“We were craving prime rib so decided to try Redwood. We had reservations so we were seated quickly. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complementary appie of sushi in spoons. Very nice. We decided to order the Charcuterie board for 4 as the waiter said the kitchen was a bit backed up. It was a good decision. We loved all the different meats and cheeses. It even had a few slices of chilled duck breast! Very nice! Unfortunately the food fell down from there. My brother-in-law and I had the prime rib and we were both disappointed in the meat. It was a poor quality cut of meat, chewy and flavorless. My husband and his sister both ordered the spaghetti and meatball dinner. Nothing special there, boring and not enough sauce. Service was good and very friendly staff. They just need to put more care into the main courses.“
“Rachelle was an tentative and happy server. She cared about our presence and was courteous to us. The food was great, served exactly to our request. Would recommend to everyone staying at The Medicine Hat Lodge, or even to locals and others visiting Medicine Hat.“
“The food was great. We felt a bit rushed. We were asked what we'd like for a drink literally seconds after we were seated. Our server, while nice and attentive, came to the table too frequently. Not complaining, it just wasn't a very relaxed experience. But all in all, it was ok. The bone marrow appetizer is highly recommended.“
