We always have a good chat while she’s cooking and we catch up on our grandkids. I’m surely going to miss our chats, and the best donairs should she ever decide to hang up her spatula.“

“I have to say the Gateway Boulevard location is my favorite. Tyra was prompt, friendly and always kept my coffee cup full without having to ask. She accommodated a couple of modifications on my order as I'm a type one diabetic, so I was still able to enjoy a delicious breakfast. I just recently went vegetarian and was worried I'd miss out on breakfast proteins but she was able to recommend the loaded veggie omelette which was delicious. “It’s taking me a couple weeks to put this review in, but I’ve gotta say it’s probably one of the best experiences I’ve ever had from the staff of a restaurant. I came into the local the day before my girlfriend and I anniversary and was just telling the manager that our first date was at their restaurant and that I was going to take my girlfriend again to reenact that day. Paige asked me what time I would be showing up and said she would reserve a table for me. Well she did more than that, she went home and prepared chocolate covered strawberries, went out to a florist and picked out an amazing bouquet of flowers and put Prosecco on ice.The staff in the atmosphere at local is next to none. “The manager Charles working today April 28 2024 was awesome, welcoming and super friendly we had a minor issue with our food but was addressed and corrected by Charles who saved the day. “We always have a pleasant experience at Original Joe's. The food is good. Our kids are welcome. The prices are reasonable. The service is great. Dig the burgers and that dill dip for the fries..kids options are decent. My only ask would be more gluten free options. A dedicated fryer for gf items would attract a lot more people and give us more options for our celiac daughter. Even my parents, one is vegan and one is rather picky, both enjoyed their meals and want to come back and that never happens.Kid-friendliness: Kids were welcome and the kids meals are good portions“

“We had made a reservation for four, and requested a particular booth, that we like. Arrived on time, only to discover that another party was in “our” booth. Server profusely apologized, their error, yes, they had the reservation, some other server wasn't aware and put others in our space. No big deal, we were seated in another area and it was fine. However, our server advised she would be “comping” our first beverage for our party of four, which she did. Our server, Brooklyn, was absolutely amazing. Food was very good, it was a very pleasant evening out. We frequent this particular restaurant as it is close by, we are always satisfied, but the service and effort put forth by this young woman ensured we will continue to patronize this restaurant. We noted this server was providing exemplary service in our entire area!“

“Even though I lost my shirt here after ladlnding from vegas on my bday, Raj was so helpfull and will surely keep me coming back for more next time ill be a winner though. i heard their hot and dry chicken for lunch is amazing I just wish it was opened longer then only 11-12 amd not a 2 hr wait LOL BUT ITS THAT GOOD! “There's sonething about the meatballs that just conjure up warmth and coziness for me. There are a couple other entrees but to me the meatballs are where it's at. They even have plant based balls as well! Plenty of sides to go along with them. As well as a selection of desserts! Try the Nordic fruit water to help wash it all down!“

They were ready to go fast (key for travel) and the macaroni was actually better tasting than many fancier adult dishes. After all, Harvey's is a national franchise, right?I don't know why, all I know is that there's a big difference from location to location. Sure the menu items are the same, but for over two decades, this location wins my vote for Best in Edmonton. Maybe the Manager hires the best staff (like Noor who served me today) but I always get a friendly greeting, perfect sandwiches, and the best service. It's the same at the drive-thru.Incidentally, I've been comparing grilled chicken sandwiches at fast food outlets (not crispy chicken, straight grilled)! Harvey's wins that! Cooked perfectly!!Finally, a tip for AMA members: Buy a reloadable Ultimate Dining Card at your AMA branch and get 5% back in rewards, and get a further AMA discount at Harvey's when you place your order.Parking: Parking can be tough during lunchtime.
