The king crab is awesome. I like the scallops as well. It's a popular place, but we get a bar table in a minute

The food was good. I got a petit filet and prawns, and asked for the steak to be medium. I got it and they where shrimp sized prawns and the steak was maybe medium rare or less. The homemade cream soda is amazing!

I used to love this place, I’ve been coming here since they opened 20+ years ago, so Im really sad to have to give their food a bad review. Its quality and consistency had been sliding for a few years. But this time Ive got to say something. The blue cheese dressing tasted more like Caesar dressing with blue-cheese crumbles, and the flourless chocolate torte was hard with granular sugar grains noticeable, was too sweet and the flavor was off, like spoiled cream had been used. The service was great as was the Ahi tuna, the calimari and the beer.Come on Glacier Brewhouse you used to be Five star, you can do better!

Came here for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. I let the hostess know ahead of time, and she said she'd let our server know so she could do something special. Our waitress, Alyssa, took quite a while to come over and take our order. When she finally returned to our table, I knew we were in for a mediocre experience here.Sure enough, the food took much longer than expected to come out (I ordered a small salad with chicken breast), she barely checked on us throughout the meal, and when she did stop by our table, she was apathetic. An hour after being seated, we finally ordered dessert. The hostess said it would be on the house, which I appreciated. Whatever birthday recognition we were supposed to receive didn't happen. When I inquired with the hostess to ask what happened, she said she had told the server. Not sure what happened there, either way, it was disappointing.Glacier Brewhouse used to be THE spot in town. The service today was some of the worst I've experienced anywhere, and I won't be back.A suggestion for all involved in this establishment: Read the book Unreasonable Hospitality, and perhaps take a trip to NYC or another country to experience what it's like to eat good food and receive exceptional customer service so you understand how to provide those things to your own customers.Dining out in Anchorage has become painful. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars in this review is for the hostess who seemed genuine, and the bread pudding. That was amazing.

Food was very good. Items were not as described though. I was told my ribeye special would be with asparagus..it was with Brussels Sprouts. And the steak itself was thinly sliced for a 50.00 entree.

Amazing food (we had the bread appetizer and then the burger and the rotisserie chicken), delicious house-brewed cream soda, and super friendly staff. Very good visit and I'm sure we'll be back again.Parking: Free parking would be difficult to find, must park at a meter on the street or a paid lot.

Always a great choice if you’re in town. Tried the house made root beer and cream soda this time around. Pretty good alternative to a beer.Had the grilled salmon. Very good but it wasn’t a thick cut. Sides were very good too. Overall though it felt like more sides and less fish.Service is attentive and friendly.Tip: Ask your server about any fresh fish. It’s the best choice to make.

The service was horrible, even for a slow night as our server had mentioned it was. The chowder was the only saving grace from our experience.Food sat in the expo window for much, much longer than it needed to be there. Either there is a disconnect between the front of house and back of house in communication, or the kitchen does not communicate their firing times on dishes. Our calamari sat in the window for easily 6-7 minutes while we waited on our soup and bread - two items that should be near instantaneously ready (especially since it was a slow night, a Wednesday).During our dinner I saw two orders of crab legs sit in the window for 8 minutes and 27 seconds - yes I had a timer going - while a pasta dish was lagging behind. This is most certainly a lack of communication between stations in the kitchen.Fortunately the chowder was there to save the night.I would honestly come back here just for the chowder and nothing else.

We had an extraordinarily long wait in between the appetizers and the main course. Beyond that, the service was friendly and responsive, the food was fantastic and the setting in the private room was very comfortable.

Service was just stellar! Our waiter took the best care of us- no easy task with a five and seven-year-old and some demanding adults who loved cocktails! The food was delicious- everything from a salad to rotesserie chicken, to halibut, crème brûlée. Thank you again for a delicious meal and special evening!

When a friend brought me there to celebrate my book release, the staff insisted on giving me free dessert. (I chose the key lime cheesecake, which came in a very generous slice.) My side of fries was also quite good, especially with the jalapeno aioli (I asked to try it as an alternative to ketchup). And the salmon BLT salad was very nicely balanced, too. A very positive Tuesday night experience. Though fairly busy for an off-season week night, we had perfectly attentive service — neither too little nor too much.(I should add: on a prior visit to celebrate another friend's birthday, when two men in our party ordered the king crab, the staff was very accommodating when I asked to take the empty crab shells home for stock making.)Parking: I haven't gone on weekends, but on my few weeknight visits, I've always found a free street spot within a block or two.
