The Fat Mermaid is an absolute must if dining in Valdez. A wide range of food so everyone in your group will find something to eat, and all of it is delicious. My personal favorites are the Wasabi chicken sandwich, tofu tacos, fried rockfish, salmon dip, and the Thai Pizza, but any pizza is amazing. Breakfast and vegan options as well. Good service, nice little place next to the water. We got the salmon sandwich and the cod sandwich. Great bun, great fries and coleslaw, just a little disappointed on the portion of fish. But all was delicious.
