The menu was limited as compared to what I expected for the main restaurant in a conversation hotel. Still the food was good and service excellent.

My experience at Ariccia Cucina Italiana was nothing short of appalling. From the moment we entered, the filthiness of the establishment was evident, with sitting booths appearing neglected for ages. The hostess displayed rude and racially biased behavior, making us feel unwelcome. The service was atrocious, with our waiter rarely checking on us and leaving us feeling abandoned. When we raised our concerns with the manager, their dismissive response only added to our disappointment. Additionally, the lackluster food and exorbitant prices further tarnished our experience. The absence of diversity among the staff was also glaring, with preferential treatment given to certain patrons. I will be sharing my ordeal with my large social media following as a cautionary tale, and I have no intention of returning to Ariccia Cucina Italiana.

Met my daughter (an Auburn student) for dinner after a conference at the hotel. We had a lovely experience and will absolutely be back and recommend. We had a leisurely dinner, from the focaccia to splitting the crunchy chocolate dessert cake. We split a bottle of champagne and had the relaxed, no-rush to hand us a check experience that is so rare in US restaurants. The focaccia wasn’t traditional, and a baker would probably say it was too soft, technically. Well, we could have eaten six of them, it was so good. Would have liked a more robust olive oil with it, and I didn’t get a lot of the rosemary flavor as its name promised, but it was a treat to open the meal with. Highly recommend. She had the beef filet cooked “medium-rare plus one minute,” and it was perfect. She said the seasoning was “a little uneven,”heavier on one side, but I didn’t detect that in the slice I stole. Nicely cooked and super tender. I had the shrimp fra diavolo: spicy sauce and succulent shrimp. I could have taken a little less of the sauce for a lighter dressed pasta, but that is really nitpicking. Dessert: not too sweet and a perfect ending. The menu is varied, with pizzas, antipasto and vegetables (really likes our roasted cauliflower), but small enough for attention to detail. Our meal wasn’t cheap: appetizer, two entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine, but it was a great night. A three-hour evening of good food, drink and conversation. Diners around us were having fun. And students on limited … funding … can split an appetizer and a pizza and not feel it too hard in the bank account. Leftovers were packed away and ready for another day.

Worst service we have had in years. Server never asked if anyone would like a refill, we had to ask each time after waiting prolonged time for her to return to the table. Server left empty dishes on the table after we had finished and ordered dessert. Dessert came out before they were cleared. Might be understandable if the restaurant had been full, sadly that was not the case. Because we were a party over 6 they added a gratuity. Generally add additional but not this time. Had we not been celebrating a birthday with friends I would have asked that it be removed. Bad service made an otherwise great meal lack luster.

Always an enjoyable experience! Lots of energy, excellent food, and the service is knowledgeable, engaging (as you want them to be), and efficient. It's a fun time! Also visit Picolo (the Jazz Bar) for a great Jazz experience!

Fantastic dining experience. Foster provided excellent service and was spot on with recommendations from wine to dessert. Every dish was delicious. Looking forward to a return visit.

Was excited to try this because of the background of Exec Chef Marc Osier - hoping for something like a Chris Bianco type Italian with emphasis on well-made flavorful pasta. I know Auburn isn’t a “big” city but excellent chefs are everywhere! And Auburn’s restaurant scene is growing! Ariccia wasn’t bad. It was just very basic, designed to fit lots of palates. I tried the bolognese, which was oddly paired with fusilli pasta. Lots of meat in it. The sauce had little complexity that bolognese is known for. It tasted like a pleasant meat sauce, mainly because the meat had to carry all of the weight of the dish. Focaccia was not focaccia. The texture was too light and had no pull to it. The calamari was breaded nicely but overcooked. Staff was enthusiastic and very nice but undertrained. When I asked about the rubbery calamari texture, the server said that she could ask the staff to prepare more but leave it in the fryer longer. I was confused…the calamari is rubbery (overcooked) and you’re suggesting you cook it longer? They boasted quite a large wine selection but no one could really tell me about any of them.

Due to an Ariccia onboarding session (according to our server), our party of 4 waited a little over an hour to get our food. Unacceptable. I completely understand team building with your new staff, but not at the expense of good customer service, which includes timely service of food. Your restaurant appears to have had enough capacity to handle the crowd yesterday. Just not well executed. Instead of recommending Ariccia without qualifications as I have done in the past, I'd hesitate now based on this experience.

Really great restaurant in the Auburn Hotel where we were staying for an Auburn gymnastics meet. Service was outstanding with good suggestions. The ravioli was so delicious. We had two children with us and they loved their meals from the kids menu just as much as the adults.

Our meal was delicious and the ambience outstanding. We had only an hour to dine before going to the show at the Gogue. The service team seated us quickly and delivered our food with time to enjoy it leisurely. Very convenient to the Gogue Center. Appreciate the complimentary valet service too!

Our waiter, a young man was excellent. He gave us suggestions and explained all of the menu. I really appreciate the new furniture. The colors are very pleasant. I would like to have some grilled chicken or a shrimp without pasta if possible. Thank you. I had my daughter's wedding reception at the hotel, and it was OUTSTANDING. Best regards Sue Hudson Duran

We’ve eaten here twice and really enjoyed it both times. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Taylor was our server and she was great. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is really nice as well.
