We made a reservation for 2 pm to sit on the patio to avoid any crowds but the have everything nicely spaced out even if it were very busy. The beef carpaccio was divine but the watermelon salad was an absolute show stopper. The zucchini and tomato pizza is my new favorite combination. The pastas were perfectly al dente. The gelato was creamy and the strawberry bursted with flavor. The chocolate mousse cake was also delicious.

Amazing food from Bottega ! Everything we ate was perfect- salmon pizza, fennel sausage pizza, watermelon salad, prosciutto and peaches.. all so amazing. Great cocktails too (and strong!). The staff was so sweet to squeeze us in inside while it started storming outside.

My wife had lunch here last week. Iconic food scene restaurant. You first notice the staff and service which is a cut above your average restaurant. Sat outside under roof with fans and we’re comfortable. My wife had a great swordfish sandwich and I tried the chicken scaloppine. Both were very good. I also had a side of field peas and corn which were perfect. Great afternoon for sure.

Ambiance: indoors decor involves vintage advertisement posters in a dimly lit formal dinning area. Food: baked feta came with focaccia bread. Marinara lovers, defiantly recommend. Beef carpaccio was more in the peppery/horseradish side so just a heads up. Bolognese pasta was cooked perfectly. Definitely savory! Drinks: Venetian spreetz had the perfect balance of bitters and sweets. Definitely recommend! Service: great and friendly service! Our server split our main course without us needing to request for it! Very knowledgeable on the menu as well.

Best of Birmingham! Had an amazing meal at Bottega!!! Everything was good!! The Halibut, the focaccia, and the peach cobbler is a must!! I’d go back to Birmingham just to go back to Bottega!!

We had my daughter’s 50th birthday party at Bottega Restaurant in Birmingham. I recommend this for a night out or a party such as ours. No one could have been nicer or more accommodating. Our server, James, was so attentive and conscientious. I would ask for his table anytime. Thank you again, James! Great party, Becky!!!

Bottega is one of the best restaurants in Birmingham. While it shares some menu items with Highlands Bar and Grill (including the incredible coconut cake), Bottega specializes in pizza and pastas. We selected a couple of snacks (the focaccia and Parmesan soufflé) and shared a vegetarian pasta entree. The star of the show here is the dessert menu -- you may want to save room for two! We got the strawberry cobbler and the coconut cake. The coconut cake is one of my absolute favorite desserts anywhere. I get it once a year when we are in Birmingham for a weekend and spend the rest of the year dreaming about it!

Beautiful restaurant and everyone wearing mask even after the mask mandate was lifted. We had a wonderful and patient waiter with the best eyeglasses, wish I caught his name. If you come, do not miss out on the sublime appetizers. Our food was good but I was in love the apps and desserts.

Oh Bottega. It's great. The cafe side I prefer but the Parmesan soufflé here was pretty ballin. Maybe ballin outta control dare I say.

I came here for an anniversary with my boyfriend and it truly was the best experience. We made a reservation and they had outdoor seating only due to covid with heaters. I got the grilled new york strip and he got the swordfish. We couldn't stop talking about how amazing our food was and our server made our night as well. He brought us complimentary dessert and this sweet couple that was married for 50 years came by to talk to us as well. They are strict on the covid guidelines and I loved that because we felt safe. The restaurant is on the pricey side, but so worth it!

Should be one star but the food was actually really good so I give it 2. They are pretty strict about adhering to COVID guidelines. However, sitting in an outdoor enclosed tent that is not heated adequately is terrible on a cold night. Upon making the reservation, I inquired about the tent and seating arrangements and it was described as warm and well heated. Laughable and not even close to warm. What's the difference in sitting in an enclosed tent rather than inside??? According to a rude person in charge, the heaters can not be turned up because you risk burning the tent but you can certainly enjoy frozen hands, feet and toosh while you sit on cold hard uncushioned metal patio furniture that is in soft gravel. Don't let your chair tip! If you want to feel incredibly unpleasant for an hour or so...that's free on the house. Eat in misery! Also ladies if you want to wear any kind of heels plan on falling! Once you feel like your mid-evil times camping at a high end restaurant, walk through the gravel as your heels deeply sink into the gravel you must walk through for your frozen dining experience. Bring your parka, some good gloves and lots of blankets!! Just stay closed Bottega or open the dining room that was a terrible feeling.

Came here during the holiday season. We had to make reservations because they were so booked up with very few available times. They are taking COVID precautions seriously with masks mandatory, socially distanced tables, and only allowing dining on their heated patio. The patio was decorated very well for the holiday and we were promptly seated on arrival. The wait staff were all extremely professional and nice. The service was quick and ran like a well-oiled machine. We started with a hot toddy to drink due to the chilly (but not cold) weather we had in Alabama. They were very good and what I expected when I ordered. They were served in glassware which isn't ideal for a hot drink but I guess you work with what you have. We had the charred onion dip for our appetizer. It was tasty and had an interesting zing to it. It wasn't too filling either. For my entree, I ordered the fish of the day which turned out to be snapper. It was cooked to perfection and served over a nice warm mushroom vinaigrette that was teeming with flavor. The broth also contained farro and spinach which were great accompaniments. Overall, a place that lives up to its reputation and has great service.
