I love calzone, but too often they're dry, with a bland tomato sauce on the side. The feta, cheddar, and mozzarella calzone at New York Pizza was moist, flavorful, had a crunchy crust, and was served with a side of tangy marinara with just a touch of spice. I liked the sauce enough I got another little cup of it with my to-go.

Ordered pickup of a pizza, calzone, and lasagna. Service was fair as I waited and wasn't really greeted. Food was not good and definitely not NY pizza. I am from Brooklyn and this is a far cry from NY. Worse part of the meal was the the sauce. It was thick almost as if some added way too much tomato paste and was barely edible like bad jar sauce. I ended up throwing most of it away.
I love this place. If you like pizza you will love it 2.

I normally REALLY like this place. It used have delicious pizza. Plenty of sauce and cheese. Other toppings this time around were of the same quantity. I don't know what it was about this time but I swear Papa John's was better than this experience. I debated on writing a review but I figured maybe by leaving this they will investigate or insert a Quality Control measures if not already in place. I really would like the old New York Pizza back.

Ok, I'm biased, let's get that out of the way. I've been eating at NYP since I was 3. I used to sit on the counter behind the plastic barrier and watch them make our pizza 30 years ago when it was in the corner spot on that strip. Their sauce is incredible and really not like anything else you'll find. Pro tip: get garlic bread and ask for a side of sauce. And get extra sauce on your pizza as well.

Why does every pizza place that wants to advertise that they are the shite have to say they serve "NY Pizza". But then when you try it, it's nothing like NY Pizza. Don't get me wrong the pizza is adequate, you won't pick up and move to Alabama because of this place, but if you are craving pizza this place will do a decent job in filling that hole. This is a no-frills kind of place. If you are looking to impress a date, keep looking for a place. The area has a small-town feel, parking will be easy. If you don't find a spot right in front of this place you will somewhere on the same block. It's A-Okay.

Had the little Italy (Margherita) pizza and it was delicious! The service was very prompt and was glad we stopped by on a whim!

Good pizza is very hard to come by in Alabama and this place is seriously top notch. Excellent, attentive service and delicious food. My only regret is getting just a 9" Margherita pizza, should have gotten the largest possible size. Wouldn't recommend bringing someone who likes to share food because I wanted this all to myself. I would choose this over my relationship in a heartbeat.

I had the Madison square calzone and my girlfriend had the chicken Alfredo. Everything was delicious and the service is amazing!!!
It was awesome! I will definitely be back when I'm back in town! Thank you to the beautiful lady's who waited on me!

Not impressed. Pizza was super greasy and soggy. Absolutely nothing like a New York style Pizza as the name implies. Still had a door sign saying Cook wanted. (Should be a clue I assume)

We got a medium marg. And a calzone, total was $34.10. The marg. Didn't have basil or fresh mozzarella on it, so basically it was a cheese pizza with tomato slices. The calzone came with a cold paste that tasted like a sugary tomato puree. If you are looking for this kind of quality the frozen section at wallmart sells a pizza called red barin for $2, much better. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the dining room was clean.

Check your order!! I can't remember the last time my order has been 100% correct from New York Pizza! We absolutely love their pizza and salads which is why I keep ordering but not getting what you ask and pay for is getting very old!! Customer service to handle the situation is more than frustrating to

Until I revisit from time to time, I forget just how crazy good the food is here. Delicious, fresh food and extremely friendly service, it's a true gem in the Edgewood community. Stop here for pizza and enjoy the convenience of not one, but two, ice cream shops within walking distance for dessert when you're done. Enjoy! (You don't have to thank me...)
