The food was good, not great. It came down to personal preference for me with the monk fish being a little off for me texture wise. Of course this was my first experience with this fish. Everything else we ate was good. Loved the atmosphere and the style inside.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Anvil, and it turned out to be quite the delightful experience. From the ambiance to the attentive service, everything was set for a memorable meal, and the food certainly did not disappoint.The star of the show had to be the Risotto Monkfish. The dish was flawlessly executed, with the fish being tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with the creamy and rich risotto. It's a combination that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting.Another standout was the pork dish. The meat was cooked to perfection, succulent and full of flavor. However, what truly stole my heart were the potatoes that accompanied it. They were, without a doubt, the best potatoes I've ever had - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. It's rare that a side dish leaves such a lasting impression, but these potatoes did just that.I also tried the Gumbo, which was alright. While it was tasty and had a good mix of ingredients, it didn't quite reach the high bar set by the other dishes. It was enjoyable, but not the highlight of the meal.Overall, The Anvil provided an exceptional dining experience. The food was good across the board, with some dishes like the Risotto Monkfish and the incredible potatoes standing out as truly exceptional. It's a place I would eagerly recommend to food lovers looking for quality dishes in a welcoming setting. Whether you're there for a special occasion or just a casual meal out, The Anvil is sure to impress.

We love to come to Sunday Brunch and hang out on the outdoor patio! I had the Brioche French Toast and my fiancé had the Breakfast Sandwich and both were excellent!! They also have delicious deviled eggs from time to time too! Definitely recommend The Anvil!!

I was looking for some good Fish and Chips and decided on this restaurant. It was my first time there - the place was so quiet and clean! Service was great and the food was delicious! We will be back and we highly recommend the brussel sprouts appetizer!

Went on 1/20/23 around 1 pm. Got the fish and chips and the Anvil Burger. The fish and chips were good. The burger was awful. The bottom bun was soaking wet like it had been sitting in water and it was quite frankly bland. But that's not the reason for the bad score. Our waiter took our order and we never saw him again until we were finished. My wife ate her entire meal without anything to drink (she finished her water before food arrived.) I guess the cook brought our food out we told him we needed water, salt and malt vinegar but we never got any of that. It was some of the worst service I've had in a while. I tipped anyway but this is part of the reason people don't tip well anymore.

Came here for NYE with some friends (not gonna lie, was mainly watching the Chiefs play, not paying attention to them). The place was basically empty so that was kinda weird. Maybe people in the south stay home NYE with family/friends or drink at bars early in the day?The waiter and bartender really didn't seem to be happy working on the holiday. I'd be more empathetic, but I did it for over a decade in the military and 12-15 hr midshifts, soooooo...Otherwise, the food was outstanding. I got the "good luck" meal (yes, I'm one of those heinous white people appropriating black culture, apparently ?). Either way, the pork belly was amazing and it was beyond flavorful. Scarfed it down in no time.I didn't get anything besides water to drink but my friends loved their fruity pink concoction, so that was a win as well. Altogether a great visit.

Not a huge selection on the menu but every item I've ever had was great. We loved eating there so much that we had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. We love the bar and Steve, the bartender. Nice atmosphere.
