Food was just ok... my taco salad was a bit bland to be honest. I was dismayed to see that there was an upcharge for sour cream and tomatoes on a taco salad... that's kinda what makes it a taco salad, right? Without those additions its only lettuce, cheese, and beef. There was plenty of beef on the salad, but little (if any) seasoning. I added salt & peppet and the salsa (from the chips on the table) to it. There was no seasoning in it either, no heat at all. My companion enjoyed her chile renneno, the taco, and the enchilada but agreed that someone needs to add some flavor and seasoning to the recipes. The decor is outdated and looks dingy and a bit shabby. Could use a good clean and some fresh paint. The ladies room was less than clean as well.Parking: On Sunday there was zero parking. Wednesday there was plenty.

Chips were ok. Salsa was good. I ordered Mexican Guacamole and a Lime Margarita (my go tos at Mexican restaurants). The Margarita tasted watered down. The Mexican guacamole was mainly pico de gallo and maybe half an avocado. My husband had a lunch special with a chile rellenos and a taco. He said they were good but not great. Service was good but there were only two other tables in the whole restaurant at 12:30. We will not be going back to San Marcos with all the Mexican restaurants to choose from.

Great place to go, good/normal service, normal food, and beautiful inside decor/atmosphere. We live close to Clanton and been going since the late 90s early 2000s. Nothing really changes and I like it that way... Also the only place in the world left that allows smoking in the bar area. But don't worry none smokers there's an non-smoking restaurant side for you as well. I set on the non-smoking side with my dad because he has headaches, and it doesn't bother him. Overall great place to eat....
Great margaritas, beware the medium is huge. I ordered a Pina Colada margarita. They also have really delicious food and make sure you get the cheese dip. Service is also really quick as well as the food. I got a chimichanga.

Visited for a birthday party--staff sitting around, never greeted us. Said they didn't know about party, but we could go look in room full of people & see if that was it. Chips were tough, salsa bland. Mexican Dinner was tasteless, taco full of dry beef & lettuce. Chicken quesadillas were just nasty. Service was good from our server; everyone else was indifferent. Not worth the visit, even tho the party was nice, no thanks to staff.
