Was eating here almost everyday. Spending at least $30 a day. Today my order was wrong and my fish was left out and so was my mother in laws yams. She went back to tell them and they wanted to argue that they weren't left out. I called back to talk to them about the catfish being left out, she wanted to argue she wasn't giving away food and I would have to pay for it after she charged me for an extra pork chop that I didn't order. I told her I know for a fact I didn't order an extra chop because I'm not paying an extra $7 for one $1 pork chop. She told me she wasn't arguing. My husband pushing me to get his fish is the only reason I went back and paid to get it. Normally staff is very pleasant. Not today. Told her I would no longer frequent the restaurant and she said that was fine with her. So instead of losing $10 to make it right, she has now cost the the restaurant $30 a day customer. As a business owner, I would take care of my good customers who frequent me everyday. Guess my business isn't important to get so their business will no longer be important to me. The sad part is they have really good food. But the side of attitude isn't worth it. Eating here for almost a month with no issues but now I'm trying to steal food.. lol.. only in tuscaloosa

Food was good. Portions got less and less. They messed up my order after eating there frequently. Never had a problem. Today I was apparently trying to steal catfish. She got the order wrong and refused to fix it. Will no longer eat there.. was spending$30 a day because they were close by. Not anymore. Was wondering why their customers were dwindling. Food is decent but that side of attitude made me nauseous. You can keep it.

Nah. This ain't Southland's. I realize it's literally not, but even as far as changing hands and being a restaurant commensurate with the old one, it's just not. The employees are all mad at the world and barely wanna talk to you or crack a smile. They don't even have a jalapeño cornbread option and the cornbread they had tasted like bland Bisquick mix. The green beans tasted and looked canned. The mac and cheese was way too peppery, yet not even remotely salty enough. The pork chop was seasoned well and was fried to perfection but, once again, someone in the kitchen was entirely too heavy handed with the salt AND pepper in its case. The place was cleaner than I remembered Southland's, so a 2nd star for that, I guess. Oh, well. Time to find a new lunch spot when I'm heading out to Tuscaloosa for work.

We just ate here, I had the meatloaf and salad bar overall taste was great. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were super nice. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area, for some good home cooked food.

The food was tasty. The baked chicken and sides were very good. The cabbage was cooked just right. Will return

Way too high for the amount of food , the beef tips over rice, or super gristly ... really lacking

Disappointing as far as food. Fried chicken dinner for $12 was one small breast. Over cooked and dry. Burger for $9 was both small, maybe 1/4 # cooking weight and over cooked (Dry and exterior was crunchy. Salad bar was ok although not organized as toppings were closest to plates, then salad, then more toppings. Definitely didn't lend it self to an orderly flow. Hopefully these small things can be worked out as they are still newly opened. Will give them another chance after more time has past as I hope this experience was "growing pains"Service was very good and friendly. With salad and drinks total bill was $32.00 prior to gratuity.
