This was my 2nd time to eat here. The first time was much better. This time wasn’t bad- just didn’t hit the flavor notes the other time did. Chef was entertaining, staff friendly, restrooms clean. Price was a little high- but what isn’t nowadays? Lots of food on the plate. We sat with another group on the same grill, so not all of our group was where they could see the chef at the grill. He did the onion volcano and threw broccoli at someone when the fire shot up. He got so tickled at her expression he had to stop before he could do the egg flip.

Went here on a Sunday. There was a wait for hibachi but not for regular tables. Enjoyed the shrimp tempura sushi. They had great lunch specials! Service was good. Only concern was the health rating, which was in the low 80s.

My husband and I rarely go out for meals anymore. We choose to cook at home. On the occasion we do decide to eat at a restaurant, we are fairly particular about where we go. We chose this place after eating here a few years back, which was a pleasant experience. We ate from the lunch menu. The rice was dry and had very little taste. The salad consisted of lettuce and ranch dressing, which was floating in water. The main thing we ordered was sesame chicken. Unfortunately, it was overcooked and I literally broke a tooth trying to chew it. My husband, who rarely complains about a meal, stated it was one of the worst meals he had eaten in a restaurant. Fortunately, we were only out about 35 dollars. It's just hard to imagine that a place can prepare and sell food and not do a better job at making it appealing to the customers.

We thought the wait would be long due to the crowd outside. If you are not doing the Hibachi grill cooking, then you go right by those waiting. This turned out to be a great idea as the sushi and tempura was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was no delay in getting our meal and refills. I was surprised that the food quality exceeded the price. We will definitely eat here again if we make it back to Florence.

The food was not fresh. I had spring rolls that were greasy and not fresh. The hot mustard has a funny taste to it. I had scallops. I was so sick to my stomach within 45 minutes of eat them. It was the worst meal I had. I had the best and worst meal within two days. If you want great asian food, go the Yumm Thai. Their food was outstanding and you will not have indigestion and end up praying to the porcelain god after eating.

Food was great. Service was awesome. Would come back. Filet and scallops were very good. Atmosphere was great.

Recently had the displeasure of eating at UMI in Florence. This place is about as authentic Japanese food as was Biden's victory. It would be a compliment to the chef to call the food mediocre or fresh. The two sushi rolls we ordered were terrible as it was a couple days past a trip to the dumpster. The fried rice from the hibachi was bland as best, the iced tea was sour as the containers must have been swimming in bacteria and the service would have been better at a candy vending machine. Maybe the local health department should take a look behind the curtain here.

The waitress was RUDE the entire time, my husband ran out of tea 2or3 times and it was NOT BUSY! Not even to mention the food was not worth what the money! NOW here's the real kicker... When my husband went to pay, he asked for a water to go. The waitress spazed and told him he couldn't have a water to go because he didn't leave her a tip!!!
