Eugene's Hot Chicken - Hoover

I love this place! It is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Birmingham area. The food is amazing! (fair warning tho, stick with the mild heat, hotter might be the death of you, lol.) The service is amazing. Every time I’ve come over the past several years, the workers have been the friendliest, nicest people. I can’t get over how much I love this place!

Got the family feast (tenders) with fries and Mac and cheese. Plenty of food to feed my family (wife and I plus four youngins). Everything we had was delicious and fresh. Really great staff as well that were helpful and friendly.

Food was ok. Nothing special. My low rating is for the front door is nasty. The handle has black sticky mess on it. Floor and walls dirty. The lady who took my order, did a great job. Hopefully they can clean the place up. It's in a prime location.

Delicious fried chicken and wonderful service definitely will eat here again. Nice portion, it's not like chicken at a fast food restaurant .

The giant wings were good.

Very good food. Mild isn't outrageously hot. I got the quarter white. Well cooked and seasoned. The creamy Mac is very good as well as the fries. Not a bad price. Customer service was okay but nothing more.

Fantastic food. Like seriously if you enjoy chicken and you haven't tried theirs please do yourself a favor and come by.

Lots of options in types of chicken and decent side selection as well. Also a fair amount of craft beer choices as well.

This is the third time my friend and I have met for lunch at this location and every time we've left more than satisfied!

Line was very long and only 1Cashier and she had to ANSWER the Phone and take orders as well as take front line orders. Ask why they didn't have 2 Cashiers she said because they cook it fresh the people in the kitchen would be backed up. To me it seem like they didn't think that one through too good. More people standing around waiting for food than done in. Not a large dine in because of Covid 19. Be Prepared to Wait online to place an Order as well as Wait on your order. Will Not Come Back BECAUSE THE WAIT SYSTEM Have not tasted the food yet. Still Waiting. Hope it was WORTH THE WAIT. ON THE OTHER HAND I HOPE THEY DO WELL IN HOOVER. BLESSINGS

Service: the person that took my order had a fairly decent demeanor but no smiles. Area and atmosphere: clean but could use some dusting. Drink fountain area a little messy.
Food: Chicken; no seasoning. Devil eggs: salty. That’s a no no. Slice of white bread hard. Bottom line I wasn’t please. Will not be back.

The chicken is fantastic but the sides steal the show for me. The beans, fried pickle okra, fries, and greens are amazing.

Love the different heat levels, the side items were terrific. Catfish was on point! Highly recommend if you want hot chicken or fish.
