My husband and I were talking about sub sandwiches and wondered if there's a Blimpie near Huntsville. I checked Yelp and found there is a Blimpie in Madison. I drove there Friday to check them out. When I went inside, I could smell fresh bread being baked. I was the only customer which was nice as I was able to take my time ordering. I ordered a large turkey and provolone on whole wheat the Blimpie Way with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oil, vinegar and oregano. I asked for and received pickles too. My second sub was a regular Blimpie Best on whole wheat the Blimpie Way and add pickles. The bread was freshly baked and tasted great. The turkey and provolone was delicious. The Blimpie Best was equally delicious with ham, salami, capicola, proscuittini and provolone. If you like submarine sandwiches, I highly recommend this Blimpie. The store was clean and the latest health department inspection score is 96. The drive to the restaurant was pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed the subs.

I used to eat at Blimpie subs years ago, so I was surprised to find one in Madison on my return to the South! It was just as I remembered it. Everything is sliced to order and very reasonably priced. I even tried a panini pressed one since that was kind of new to me from this establishment! I just wish the sandwich maker was better trained on using the panini press. The employee needs to learn how to press down on the machine to get the sandwich that flat crunchy shape. Other than that, the place was very clean and the meats and cheeses were of excellent quality! I highly recommend this place on your travels through the Deep South!

Blimpie is in an out of the way place way out Browns Ferry Rd. We stopped by there the other day and had great service and great food. It's like Subway on steroids. Why aren't there more of these restaurants in the HSV area?

I haven't been to a Blimpie for years. I like how they slice the meat when you order the sandwich. I got the Blimp. It's huge. It's all you need. They pile so many toppings on it, you better get a fork because it's like getting a sandwich and salad. I like Blimpie better than the other sandwich chain.
