So, after the cashier had a fit that I couldn't have double kettle chips as my 2 sides (even though it is the cheapest side they have according to their own menu in store), I realized after I got back to work that they overcharged me by about $10 for the combo plate. The food was alright, but portions are REALLY small, especially since they charged me the same price for a combo plate that on their menu should have gotten me an entire POUND of brisket!!! Definitely not worth the price.

My husband and daughter had a positive experience previously at this place, so we decided to check it out. Although, we weren’t greeted, the staff was helpful to my husband. The food is good and the restaurant was clean.

I don’t know if we hit them on an off night— but the food was terrible. My wife had pulled pork that may have been the driest material on the face of the planet. However, my brisket was one of the slimier things I’ve ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. They even messed up the bread… stale and strange tasting. The cashier was good, but the three college-aged kitchen staff together moved the speed on one competent employee. We found ourselves craving our friend’s Chinese food and merely moving the “bbq” around on our plate with the plastic fork. It was more expensive than the other bbq places in town— and I asked myself, “why would I pay more for an inferior product?”. It goes with our saying — we won’t be eating here again.

Food was so so, but the actual restaurant was horrible. Stuff laying everywhere. Food on the floor, kitchen items all over the place. Cook had 4” of underwear showing. Possibly the worst dinning experience in Huntsville.

Historically, I pull fat off brisket when I eat barbecue but Bark & Barrel does brisket so well I eat it as is. The first time I came it was right before close but the staff didn't treat us like we were an imposition, even though we were. We left quickly so they could go home and forgot to get barbecue sauce but the food was so good it didn't REALLY need it. Of course I've been back several times since and tried every barbecue sauce I could, and it's all amazing. The homemade kettle chips are beautiful and I can't wait to try them in nacho form but they're still super amazing as is.Staff is kind, knowledgeable and efficient.Store and kitchen have always been beautifully clean.

Best brisket I have had outside of Texas. By a LONG shot. Normally wouldn’t be such a statement but every other play I have tried brisket in Alabama it tastes/feels like a slice of two day old roast beef. No place in/around Huntsville that I have tried can even compare when it comes to the brisket.
Very disappointed. Baked potato was cold. Butter and cheese didn’t even try to melt. Took it back to have them warm it up, older woman in the back rolled her eyes. Young man put it in the oven for at least 5 minutes. Saw him stir the potato after taking out of the oven for a bit and then he handed it back to us. Cheese was still cold and butter had just started to melt. As we were standing there another patron asked if they had other bbq sauce because the one out was spicy. Older lady in the back snapped back “it’s not spicy at all”.

Brisket was delicious, and fatty portions were especially good. More fat on it than other places I've been, which I normally wouldn't care for but it really worked in this case. Bread was what it was. Potato salad was excellent, Cole slaw was about average. Also got a few smoked cookies but I don't know that the smoke flavor did anything for them. Decent prices, staff was decent as well.

Food was good. Pulled pork was delicious. The pork skins were stale and the slaw was good.service sucked !!the guy runner no the counter was on his phone is acted out out when we walked in the door. He put his phone down and let us know the menu was on the wall went back to his phone call! We ordered and he acted like we couldn't order fast enough. He gave us our ticket and tea and let us know they would bring it to us. Well the second set of people came in to order he yelled at the lady opening the door to close it . After 20 min I walked back in to get napkins and utensils and my food was waiting on the counter along with the second set of people that ordered behind us . On top of that a young man walked in while we were all waiting and promptly walked out stating the guy is always an *** hole when he comes in there and promptly left. I enjoyed the food and probably would have enjoyed the atmosphere at a later time but if everyone is as ugly as he was it's not worth our time

This was the first time trying Bark and Barrel after many visits to Stovehouse. The order taker was pleasant, but did not make up for the rudeness of cook. I ordered chicken, and apparently it was the last chicken to be ordered for lunch. The cook yelled at the order taker to not let anyone else order chicken, as if I did something wrong by ordering chicken. On an order after mine, he questioned if there was enough 'good' brisket left for a sandwich. When I got my order, the cook had the number wrong but insisted he had the correct number even though I am standing there with a different number ticket. For the service alone, I wont be back. For the food, the kettle chips just sit in a bag on the counter all day with soaked in grease. They were not good. The chicken was average, not worth the price or hassle from the service. Stovehouse has many options, so I will chose other places in the future.

The service was terrible. When ordering the older gentlemen acted like we were an inconvenience because he was too busy on a personal call through earbuds. After him telling his friend on the phone to hold on because he had to take an order we tried to order are food. He then instructed me to I needed to change my order because they wanted to get rid of more chicken than Cajun Sausage on the combo meal. We were the only ones there ordering. My husband waited for our food for at least 15 minutes. When he did receive our food the guy tried not to give one of the items we paid for. It wasn’t until a female employee stepped up and said give them their food. Not sure if he was trying to joke but we were not amused. If it wasn’t for the food being delicious we would never go back there again.
