Excellent Alabama comfort food.The fried catfish is what I had, and it was delicious.The hush puppies should be illegal.Locals and old timers know what I am talking about.Grab a couple of the fried pies on your way out the door... pay for them first.Worth the short detour to get to it.Eat there or miss out. Your choice.
I have grown into an old man. The Greenbrier was old when I first started going there in the early 70’s. It’s just as good as I remembered it. The people that run it, the people that work it, and the people that eat there; do so with pride. You can’t buy that atmosphere with buzz. It comes through years of dedicated hard work and quality of product. As always, I’m looking forward to my next meal there. They owe me two pies I paid for and forgot to pickup. A great excuse to go back.jkm
I ordered the ribs they were so overcooked attempted to eat the meat off the ribs it was like jerkey and the bones came apart like potato chips. Dangerous and disgusting. But the hushpuppies were good people were nice. So that ruined ribs for me for a while ::gags::

Hamburger steak was two patties sorta melded into a large steak form that in cooking became very dried out. Salad was really good tea was also.Dietary restrictions: Lower carb diet
Pulled pork and coleslaw was excellent.Kid-friendliness: Kid catfish fillet was good.

This is the best BBQ restaurant in northern Alabama. Their white sauce is amazing on their chicken. The pulled pork is really good too. The hush puppies are also really good.
It's in my Opinion the Best BBQ in the North Alabama area, a great Homey experience in an old school setting. The staff are Great, The Food and Portions are phenomenal.And they aren't just famous for BBQ, they have the best fried Catfish, Great tasting Seafood Options and THE BEST Hush Puppies You've ever put in your Mouth. Don't pass up on this little Small town Eatery.
