The food is terrific, the place is maybe a converted old brick house, the parking lot is small but you can park out back on the grass. The servers are pleasant, kinda casual typical for a country diner. The pies are frequently selling out so you gotta get a slice when you can. The daily specials are usually worth a try too. Called in here after golf in Mount Dora for late lunch. Got a great friendly welcome. It looks nothing from the outside and not heavily furnished on the inside, but, hey, what great food from really friendly folks. Our server was great - explaining to us foreigners exactly what each meal was and making recommendations. Our drinks came straight away, and meals shortly afterwards. If you want home-style southern cooking this is the place to go. Thursday night is fried chicken special. I got a2-piece (you get to choose which pieces) and hush puppies and fried okra with a lemonade. It was very good, especially the chicken. Since it was pi day, and they are known for their pies, I had to get a piece for dessert. I got the strawberry which was good, but tried my friend's peanut butter pie and it was incredible.
