My favorite restaurant in my town! The people know you by name and the food is cooked fresh to order! They are always so nice and friendly to everyone. The setting is old school and I love it!

FIRST OF ALL ,BOOKERS IS OWNED AND OPERATED WELL, BY PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY LOVE THE COMMUNITY, AS WELL AS, PROVIDING DELICIOUS HOME COOKED FOOD. They have in house entertainment, certain days of the week, which can be found on their Facebook/Meta page. Bread pudding is scrumptious. The staff and owners go out of their way ,to be hospitable and provide impeccable service. This is a country/soul food staple in sylacauga and SHOULD BE SHOWN & GIVEN MORE CREDIT,FOR NOT ONLY THE EFFORT AND LOVE THAT GO INTO THEIR COOKING,BUT THE KINDNESS SHOWN TO PATRONS. EVERY YEAR THEY DO A THANKSGIVING MEAL FOR PEOPLE, IN NEED,MAKING ❤️❤️❤️HUNDREDS OF PLATES.THIS PLACE IS A BLESSING TO SO MANY!!If you're in the area, stop by ,you won't be disappointed. Truly amazing food, staff and owners.Looking forward to more meals and memories here.❤️❤️❤️

This is one of the most friendly homey restaurants. Service was excellent; Ms Booker, the owner took our orders. We had 30+ people in our Senior New Beginnings group. There was several others taking orders and getting our drinks. There was also an older gentleman keeping us entertained while we waited for our food; I believe his name was Bob. When the food came I can only describe it as very generous portions of what I call home cooking. I had fried chicken livers with fried okra and black eye peas and a corn muffin. The fellow next to me had Philly cheese steak with fried okra and a large side salad. Friends across had fried catfish fillets with sides and her husband had hamburger steak and gravy. My friend, the birthday girl had bread pudding that they brought for her. She said it was delicious. I was so full and still brought home a box full of livers and okra. The Senior special was 2/$25 which includes drinks. The dinner menu had a lot of selections including seafood. It was a block away from the Bluebell Creamery. We will return again.Vegetarian options: Vegetable plates and salads.Wheelchair accessibility: The owner was holding the door open and welcoming us in and the floor was tile. Several of our group had walkers and they had no problem getting around.

This is kind of an unusual review for me. I was in Sylacauga and I was hungry. I know, imagine that. I wanted bbq. I had already been to the other two popular bbq joints in town, I wanted to try Booker’s. I walked in and friendly folks greeted me. But they had no bbq. I was very disappointed. That’s why this is not a 5 star review. I had the hamburger instead. It was a very good hamburger. If I could suggest anything about the hamburger, it lacked sear or grill marks. That would have made it an excellent hamburger. Like I said, the food was very good. The restaurant had a really good vibe about it. I will definitely go back.
