“I've eaten a lot of different BBQ in a lot of different states, and I can say that Southland's BBQ is solid. The ribs are exceptionally good, and I've always been happy with the sides (although I'm admittedly not that adventurous and usually get the mac-and-chese and turnip greens). The people are friendly and the down-home vibes make it easy to settle in for chitchat with the locals.“
“Alabama if you’ve never had whole hog bbq then Rodney Scott’s is a must. The bbq had the right amount of vinegar on it and it just melts in your mouth. The cornbread and collards were awesome. The potato salad and baked beans were good. The banana pudding was good. I highly recommend this place if you want awesome “

“Amazing - far exceeded our expectations!!!Our hotel recommended this restaurant and gave details on what they liked about it. It sounded unique, so we gave it a try. OMG! It had a great atmosphere in a little neighborhood shopping center. The service was great, our server was friendly and took great care of us. They have Bushwackers! We also had two of the grits and green dishes - pulled pork and blackened catfish. Both were delicious! And, we had the butterscotch bread pudding. Everything was SO good! What a great experience.“

“Catfish wasnt as warm as I wanted but I got this off of DD so that is why I'm sure, but portions were big.good flavors and everything tasted great. I got catfish, Mac n cheese, okra, wings and cheese bacon fries which were huge and had sooooo much bacon. Could've had more cheese sauce but over all great prices for big portions.“
“I hadn't been here in years because of a custimer service issue. We tried it again and the food was great. The ribs were cooked and flavored to perfection, so was the chicken. The sides were tasty as well. There are several big name rib joints here in Birmingham that i find average at best. In My opinion they have the best Barbeque in Town!“
