“Awesome atmosphere and great location. Loaded cheese fries were really good and if you like peanut butter try the Thai nachos. Claire was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing. Claire recommended a kiwi drink that was sooooo good. For a perfect experience ask for Claire, kiwi drink and loaded cheese fries and you will be back…..“
“The kitchen is open! Finally got to try the new menu last night, Cuban sandwich, pastor with an awesome slaw, nachos, specialty hotdogs-- everything was tasty and very reasonably priced. The new Taproom has tons of space and a special room for music and comedy. Pinball machines, several gaming systems, and great records spinning all the time make it a fun inviting space for everyone. Oh, did I mention they've got beer?? Rotating taps with lots of variety. So happy to find a place that isn't just 6 IPAs and a double IPA and a West Coast IPA.“
“I had the pork chop brunch plate with potatoes and fried egg and it was AMAZING! Pork chop was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Tasted like it came straight out of a black iron skillet actually!!! Which is a plus of course. Live music was playing in the bar and it was quit delightful! My new fav place in Tuscaloosa to escape downtown. My compliments to the chef. Do keep it up.“
“The Houndstooth is a T-town landmark sports bar. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon during a Crimson Tide football game on TV. It has ample seating indoors and on a large street side patio. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. There are dozens of large screen TV's throughout providing good viewing of the Alabama game. We ordered some adult beverages and some bar food (wings, rings, fries and quesadillas). We were surprised when the food arrived at the bar in cardboard "to go" style boxes. ??? (The bar food comes from a related take-out place next door.). The food was good but the wings were very small (sparrow wings?) and the onion rings were disappointing as rings go - over cooked, breading crumbly and greasy. Alabama won the game clinching yet another SEC-West title. The place erupted in cheers and the bar cranked up Sweet Home Alabama which got everyone singing. Five stars for the ambience and service but three for the food. Hey, it's a sports bar, so I wasn't expecting a super gastronomic experience. Lots of spirit and energy on game day. The Houndstooth rocks. Roll Tide!!“
“This was a revelation. The prices are reasonable. The service was perfect. The food is excellent. The portions are huge! This must be the best kept secret in Tuscaloosa. Hidden away in the Capstone Hotel, if everyone in Tuscaloosa tried this place once, there would be a waiting line forever after.I can't wait to go back!“
“Don't go to Buffalo Phil's often. But when I do go the service is always good. The food is definitely fresh. Tried their burgers for the first time and it was amazing. Appetizers were the southwestern egg rolls and fried pickles (half off on Monday's or during happy hour) I couldn't remember. Lol. Definitely a great place to stop by if passing through.“
“we found this place on a whim parents weekend. So glad we did. The food was phenomenal and service was just as great. They got a big crowd all at once and never wavered with their service. Such a neat place! good music too! Even my college aged daughter said she would have to make it one of her spots to frequent. Definitely give them a visit. You won't be disappointed!“
