“My favorite restaurant in town! I eat here as often as I can. Every single item I’ve tried from the menu turns out to be my new favorite! Best burgers in town, the fried catfish is fantastic! This last trip I tried the Fish & Grits…it was unbelievable! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The staff and owners are friendly, atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, prices are reasonable. Urban Bar & Kitchen can’t be beat!”

“We came for lunch but ended up ordering off the dinner menu. We had the Schnitzel with one side. We had never had the spaetzle. It was very different! I've never had anything like it. The schnitzel with the mushroom gravy was absolutely fantastic. We had 2 of the best servers. They were extremely nice and helpful. When we asked them about the menu and what the items were like. They also had live music playing, and the owner just hanging out talking to all the guests. It was a lovely experience, and we can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu. “Was working in Tuscaloosa and a restaurant with a two hour wait recommended the River. We had the steak filet and the seared tuna. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding and the whole experience was just classy and comfortable. Brussel sprouts were on special for an appetizer, they were the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant.”

The staff there remember the regulars and their orders, and recently when we thought we might change it up and try something else…but weren’t sure if we would like it…they made us a small sample so we could try before we buy. And it worked because we got it the next time, haha. It gets really busy at times, so check the parking lot, but highly recommend!”

“I have been to Heritage House so many times as a student in Tuscaloosa. All the locations have a different vibe, but i especially love the Towncenter location because of its cozy, warm, eclectic atmosphere. The service is always great and I usually never have to wait long for my coffee. I would say that the food is one of the best parts because they make their pastries from scratch and all of them are delicious! Their kitchen food is wonderful as well! I would recommend the breakfast burrito (put the jalapeño ranch on it) with turkey sausage and an iced caramel macchiato”

“I can’t say enough great things about 1225. Every experience we’ve had has been exceptional from the customer service, to the atmosphere, to the food and drinks. The restaurant is also locally owned versus having corporate ownership which allows for a more personal at home vibe where the owner is hands on and turnover is low. I highly recommend if you’re looking for an enjoyable time to share with family and friends.”

After having one of the worst experiences ever at Dillard's Chophouse the last time we were in town for parents weekend, we decided to go on a recommendation from a friend and give Forte a try. I wish we had gotten the recommendation sooner. From the minute we sat down until we paid the bill the experience was excellent. While the food was outstanding, the service was even better. Our server Daniel was extremely attentive and not once did we have to ask for anything. He had quite a few tables but made us feel as if we were his only one. Every drink and dish we ordered were outstanding and we've decided that from now on, anytime we are in town we will be sure to eat here (we've already made our reservation for when we return in September). if you want the best Tuscaloosa has to offer this is your place. Amd if the manager of Dillard's happens to read this you may want to make a reservation and ask for Daniel....I think you could learn something.”

“My first Waffle House experience and it was fantastic! For starters, not only was the staff very friendly for an early Saturday morning, but they were all very polite as well. We sat down and ordered quickly, and our server was on top of everything. Our food came out fairly quickly and everything tasted great. I also paid attention to how friendly the staff was with the cool while they submitted orders and waited for their orders to go out. There was no shouting, they were polite, they weren't in each other's way and they were working quickly and efficiently. The cashier was sweet and friendly, and everyone thanked us as we left. I'm sure this restaurant gets very busy during the year, as they are on The Strip in Tuscaloosa, but I'm sure they're just as quick, efficient and awesome then as they were on an early Saturday morning. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm in Tuscaloosa, and hopefully all other Waffle Houses deliver the same experience as this one did. Thank you to everyone for such a great experience! ?”

“First time customer. Got the 20 inch pepperoni and the 12 inch Mama Mia. In the photo you can get an idea of the difference between a 12 inch and a 20 inch pizza by the boxes. Sorry I was too busy eating to post pictures of the actual picture.The 20 inch pizza was all you could hope for in a New York style crust. It folded well and had a good chew. IYKYK!! Even better it passed the late night or breakfast cold pizza test by not getting soggy and the crust still retaining its integrity. Also reheated well(375 for 8 min got everything warm without over crisping the crust). The 12 was fine but wasn't as tasty as I was expecting with the garlic confit. But that could just be me.Yes the price seems expensive but just from the 20 inch we got 5 meals, Dinner and lunch for 2 plus breakfast for 1, out of it. Making the cost about 8 dollars a meal. Which is less than you pay for a hamburger combo at your favorite fast food restaurant.I didn't put anything for the atmosphere because I was there at 330 in the afternoon, on a Thursday, and I was the only one there. But the staff were nice and tried to explain to me the size of the 20 inch pizza. I wouldn't say they failed as much as I would say I failed to truly understand.Best Pizza I have eaten in Tuscaloosa. Next time I am going to try the Sicilian style crust! Only recommendation I would have is that they display the pie pans so customers would get a true understanding of the size of the pizzas.?Parking: Seem to be a good number of spaces. Just be careful of the grade to the road on the entrance and exit.”

Every single time, Southern Ale House has provided an amazing meal with great taste and beautiful plating. “This was a great choice for our dinner in Tuscaloosa. We love oysters so we enjoyed the oysters on the half shell. There was a HUGE oyster on the plate! Largest oyster I've ever seen! The jalapeno hushpuppies were very good...not hot as the name might imply. The stuffed portabella mushrooms were really good but I did have to scrape off the sauce because it was too spicy for me. I didn't even remember the description saying anything about a spicy sauce. I loved the garden salad with their garlic balsamic vinegar dressing. My husband got the steak with shrimp and the steak was cooked properly. Waitstaff was friendly and efficient. I thought the prices were pretty reasonable.”

“The food here is amazing. Passing through AL on the way back to LA and found this place on Google. It was kind of a pain to get to due to the construction and it not being just off the interstate for easy off and on but it was worth it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was they don't allow for substitutions on any menu items. You have to get it exactly how it is listed on the menu. The service was great even at the bar where we had to sit because it was very crowded. Petty issue was they took the game off the tv we were watching to put on the SAME game that was already on 5 TVs. Otherwise will def eat here again next time I'm in town! GEAUX TIGERS! ;)”

“let me tell you the first thing that attracted us to this restaurant was the smell of BBQ!!! we get in, and at first I expected a sit down style restaurant where they seat you. What you have is you go to the counter and order your food. We both chose the spare ribs and fried green tomatoes, I had the potato salad and she got the Mac and cheese. Let's break this down.. the Mac and cheese was so good your could wat it by itself and be happy, the potato salad was just as good. The fried green tomatoes were good. The ribs were sooo tender and the taste without the sauce was very good very good season and good smoke flavor, add in the BBQ sauce and they are next level. This is a must go, not a possibility. A Must!!!!! we definitely enjoyed this meal, and your staff was just as amazing!”

“My friend treated me to breakfast today. I ordered a biscuit and gravy again. My friend ordered a Hardee's breakfast platter with bacon. It comes with grits, eggs, your choice of sausage, bacon, or ham. The grits were soupy and so was the gravy. The eggs are artificial but ok. The bacon was crispy. When the gravy is soupy, it's just not the same. I ordered a Frisco breakfast sandwich and it is nothing like the picture. There is hardly any meat or cheese on it. It's not much more than a grilled cheese sandwich, if that.”

I really enjoyed the fried egg you can now put on any biscuit they offer. I enjoy making them at home but now that I know I can just go to Hardee's, it's game over for the at home version now. “Visited for the first time today and it was a great trip! I purchased the strawberry peach blast and the key lime pop tart. Both were excellent! Atmosphere is spacious in a repurposed building with a neat variety of seating options (counter, couch, 2/4 tops amd big table). Food could use some finese: ie acai bowl needs improved presentation and I was NOT expecting, upon ordering a hot Vietnamese cofee, for her to pull out a pitcher of premade to steam up...part of what makes Vietnamese coffee's character is watching the phin kit filter slowly drip onto the condensed milk in a glass. Also if some plastic use could be phased out (spoons needing to be individually wrapped, asking if "for here" orders need tops) that would be a plus. 7.5/10 would easily hang out or meet-up here over food/drinks if in town again. “First time customer. Got the 20 inch pepperoni and the 12 inch Mama Mia. In the photo you can get an idea of the difference between a 12 inch and a 20 inch pizza by the boxes. Sorry I was too busy eating to post pictures of the actual picture.The 20 inch pizza was all you could hope for in a New York style crust. It folded well and had a good chew. IYKYK!! Even better it passed the late night or breakfast cold pizza test by not getting soggy and the crust still retaining its integrity. Also reheated well(375 for 8 min got everything warm without over crisping the crust). The 12 was fine but wasn't as tasty as I was expecting with the garlic confit. But that could just be me.Yes the price seems expensive but just from the 20 inch we got 5 meals, Dinner and lunch for 2 plus breakfast for 1, out of it. Making the cost about 8 dollars a meal. Which is less than you pay for a hamburger combo at your favorite fast food restaurant.I didn't put anything for the atmosphere because I was there at 330 in the afternoon, on a Thursday, and I was the only one there. But the staff were nice and tried to explain to me the size of the 20 inch pizza. I wouldn't say they failed as much as I would say I failed to truly understand.Best Pizza I have eaten in Tuscaloosa. Next time I am going to try the Sicilian style crust! Only recommendation I would have is that they display the pie pans so customers would get a true understanding of the size of the pizzas.?Parking: Seem to be a good number of spaces. Just be careful of the grade to the road on the entrance and exit.”

“This store needs more employees. we had party of 5 with 2 kids. waited 45 to 50 minutes to be seated and the restaurant wasn't packed out. their just understaffed. the waitress did her best and kept saying to please be patient she'd be right back with drinks and so forth. she had to plate the food as well as take orders and fill drinks. the food was good though. we were there a total of about 2 hours. that's just too long.”
