As we were waiting for the Happy Bao restaurant we wandered around the mall that the Hue Gourmet was in. We noticed a few people order from the restaurant but still decided to try the bao restaurant. A hidden gem in a sea of mediocre Asian food. Don't let its humble appearance in the Mekong food court fool you. While Arizona already has a surprisingly large number of high quality Vietnamese restaurants, Hue Gourmet provides a refreshing and unique culinary experience. I. Crave. This. Place. Since I have family in the Scottsdale area, I am fortunate to fly down every 3 or so months to pop over here and eat this soup. It's so creamy. The noodles are homemade. As a gluten free foodie, I can rarely find homemade noodles! Hiding in this soup is quail egg. Shrimp and a very small amount of crab are in this too. The flavor is rich- and comforting.
