Safeway Bakery

Was treated horribly here. I felt like I was not welcomed as a black woman walking around looking for groceries. Just hard to explain racism. Wouldn't recommend this location even if no other options. I'd rather go towards Thomas road or Scottsdale. Just beware.

Shopped this evening at 8:00. There were three young ladies standing around one cash register (all employees - around the same age) doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except giggling, talking about vomit and gossiping about a customer. Normally, this is my Safeway of choice. However, this morning there was only one employee in the self checkout lane. Ready and willing to train me how to check myself out. With no employee discount! No, thank you. I left my cart of groceries there for them to restock. And I am going to a different grocery store now. I will try this store again, but I will always check to make sure that there are Safeway employees ready to check me out because that's what I'm paying for when I...read full review
