Impeccable service. Upgrade to Casita, which was showing some sign of age. The breakfast staff (Jennifer and Gersson) were attentive and pleasant even though each day, the breakfast potatoes were cold. During the buffet breakfast, Rogelio made a nice omelet.

Another fabulous stay at Westin Kierland resort for 8 nights. It’s one of our top hotels to stay in & are only sorry that we live so far away that we don’t get to visit more often. Lovely room with the best aircon for the 118F heat, superb pool for adults only, beautiful public areas, great shuttle service to Kierland Commons & more, decent breakfast with good service which we took instead of MB points. So much around the hotel to do & see plus great restaurants on the doorstep. We particularly enjoyed our visits to North Italia in Kierland Commons. This hotel does a great job catering for such a large mix of guests - leisure, conference, families, couples & golfers . Sad to leave but hope we can return again soon?

Resort is beautiful and we had a nice stay but there were 2 areas where improvements can be made. 1. The lazy river and the pool area in general was dirty. The lazy river needed to be skimmed badly and had lots of leaves and bugs floating around to the point it that the debris would stick to your hands and legs as you floated around. Yuck! The pool area was better regarding bugs and leaves but had lots of cups and trash around and in the pool. Staff could be more diligent about keeping these areas clean throughout the day. 2. We requested a king bed and early check in. When we came to check in, we were told that only queen rooms were available, so we agreed to wait until a king bed was ready. We were texted several hours later that our room was ready, only to find out that it had queen beds. We reserved a king so we asked to be moved to a different room. They agreed but said that only first floor rooms were available. We didn't have an issue with that and agreed to the first floor king room. What they didn't tell us was that the room was on the main hallway between the lobby and pool so it was constantly noisy from early morning until late night and that the king bed wasn't a real bed but a murphy bed that was really low to the ground - thank goodness we don't have bad knees or we wouldn't have been able to get in and out of the bed. I feel like both of these details should have been disclosed to us before we got assigned the room. On the good side, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The meeting space was great and the food served during the conference was really good. If we had come in a different season, we would have enjoyed the outdoor seating options as they are really nice and the views are beautiful.

The staff was kind and attentive, the hotel is very clean. The pool had ample seating even during the holiday. Plenty of choices for food and things to do. Did not use the Spa this trip-but heard great things. All ok with this Westin.

The staff at the front desk, namely, Lucas, Adam, Mario, Tina, Marcella, Max, and Ryan and the supervisor Tanner are all so wonderful and helpful! Marcy, in charge is always so nice!! We will be back soon though, and hope to catch up. Marcy always has a nice smile and is fun to talk with! Your overall staff is always pleasant and ready to help. At the Monday Club, we were greeted as always by Ricky. Ricky made sure that we were well cared for. He was kind. Rogelio the chef makes the best omelettes and always asks if we would like anything else. He greets us with a smile and is always nice.Rogelio introduced me to the food manager, who I apologize here that I am not recalling your name, but I will say hello next time we come by. Michelle the waitress, Veon, Adam and Jennifer always take great care of us. Geovoni, (sp) and the other wait staff always give a smile and a hello to ask how we are doing. They are all so very pleasant. The last time I meant to mention a manager, Luke, he is so welcoming and kind. Gersson, and the other assistants are very accommodating and they too all greet us with a smile and a "how are you doing?" I want to make special mention of Stephan. During our stay before last, the front desk had sent up an appreciation gift (tray of snacks and drinks). Stephan placed it in our room. Also, we needed to move rooms as another guest was coming into the room we were in. I made mention to Stephan, and Stephan immediately asked me if I would like assistance by taking our belongings to the next room in his cart (we were in a Cabana and going inside to a hotel room). I thought that was so kind of him to offer!! I took him up on his offer, and not only did he help me bring my things to the cart, but he also carried my things and the snack tray up to my new room and placed it onto the table. He asked if there was anything else he could get me and I said "no, " and I thanked him for all of his help and hospitality. After getting settled in my new room and having a small snack, I heard a loud knock on my door by a staff member. Upon opening the door a man came in and lifted the tray as if to take it and said to me that was not meant for me. I was taken back by the whole thing. I failed to take down his name as he was so quick moving. I decided to let it go, though confused, as this was the only bad experience that I have had at the Westin. I only wanted to remember how nice it was to be treated so well by your other staff including Stephan. Later I saw Stephan and I shared the bad experience with him and he could not have been more professional! He was very apologetic for the other staff persons' behavior. Again, Stephan showed professionalism and made things feel like they should in a resort as nice as yours. Thank you.

Our family visited Arizona for the first time, and we did a bit amount of research on Marriott properties given our points/Bonvoy status. We were really glad to choose the Westin Kierland, as it was what we were hoping for our family of four. The location was also good near the Commons and many other places in Scottsdale. The property is well maintained throughout - inside and out. The pool complex was amazing and ideal for our kids with a huge pool and long lazy river - one you don't see often at a resort but at a water park instead. Plenty of space in the water and plenty of chairs. We do wish there was more shade around the pool area given the high heat.. More canvas on top, more trees, or even umbrellas that can tilt as the sun moves around the day. Our family spent a good amount of time at the pool, and it would have been good to not have to worry about the sun beating down. Would have loved to have taken advantage of more outdoor activities like golf and basketball, but when its 105-110 outside, you just want to be pool side or indoors. Staff was great and helpful throughout our stay, especially by the pool. Loved the frequent water pitcher refills poolside to keep cool and the regular check ins while we were seated. Our room was upgraded given Bonvoy status to be near the pool although on the ground floor, which I appreciated, especially given how full the hotel was for a dance competition. It made it easy to walk to the pool especially with the lines for elevators at times given that dance competition. The room was a decent size, but could have used another chair or seat someplace besides the one chair at the desk. The outdoor area outside the patio door was nice but I wish the table was a little bigger to eat a meal or something like that. Room was comfy + clean - bathroom was big with a good stand-in shower. Pillows were kinda firm - better than most hotels thankfully. And AC controls kept a steady temp in the room. I didn't appreciate the resort fee as most guests wouldn't.. I would just prefer they roll the fee into the room rate, especially when I'm using my Bonvoy points and still have to pay the fee on top of the parking fee as well. Housekeeping was good and came by daily, although there were a couple of odd moments with taking our used soap bars away without replacing them, knocking on our door at 8:30 the day we were going to check out, and not doing enough to get rid of the vomit smell (thanks to bad food my son ate at a restaurant) on the carpet (admittedly our doing!) Overall - we really enjoyed our time at the resort. If we visit the area again, I'd be more than happy to stay at this resort, and have already recommended it to a few friends/family. Hopefully, the next time we visit it won't be in the summer months and can enjoy more of what the resort has to offer including the golf course.

We ordered from the food menu mostly. The menu is not very intuitive- it was hard for me to figure out what they offered and the cashier sorta pressure you to hurry up and put in your order. I took a picture of the menu to 1) prepare ahead of time what I will order and 2) to fully absorb what they are selling (since it’s a bit confusing). That helped me to feel less stressed when they are waiting for people to get in line. They sold Starbucks coffee and they can heat up pastries and bagels.

The Westin Kierland is a gorgeous resort. Grounds are immaculate. Beautifully maintained golf course and grounds. Free shuttle and golf carts to transport you to the surrounding area. Just across the street from two large shopping malls: Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter. Both have great restaurants and shops and both are nicely shaded. Resort has an adults only swimming pool as well as a family pool with an adjacent lazy river and flowrider (additional charge for the flowrider). Poolside service is very good, but with a limited menu. Resort has multiple restaurants and bars as well as a scotch room. Nellie Cashman's Monday Club is outstanding and the featured prime rib is to die for. Rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. Elite treatment is outstanding. Lots of public space both indoors and outdoors with many outdoor areas having misters. Lobby is spacious and conducive to gathering. Elevators are rapid with little to no wait time. We were extremely satisfied with everything the Westin had to offer and will definitely return.

Amazing! Great family resort. There are lots of activities for families with children of every age. Pool was fun with lazy river and slide. Rooms updated. Resort beautiful inside and out. Grounds and buildings well maintained. Beds and bedding are comfortable and provide restful nights. Walkable to The Commons or do my son’s favorite and get a ride in one of the golf carts. Staff go above and beyond to help make your stay memorable. Highly recommend staying at this resort. Everything was great.

We purchased Vistana timeshare in 1995, eventually purchasing Marriott Vacation club timeshare in the last few years. We are Chairman owners. We checked in today and received the worst possible room they could have, first floor, tiny with only a window on the bedroom. Its a terrible room, people walking by. If you are a MVC timeshare owner this is a property you won't want to book.

Pro: Nice hotel and location. Cons: Pool is too small and crowded. Accessibility could be improved. Ramps are inconveniently placed and hard to find. Pool waiter seems to be in a rush and did not wait to take our order so I decided to walk to the restaurant myself.

This Westin resort is located in Scottsdale within walking distance from upscale shopping and dining. The hotel valets will also take guests over to the shopping in a golf cart upon request. Breakfast vouchers are provided typically for each stay and the restaurant on the first floor provides a daily buffet. There is a menu available, but the wait staff will begrudgingly provide it instead of the buffet when pushed to do so. There does seem to be a curiously stronger than average preference expressed for guests to eat only from the buffet. The food is quite good. Internet is provided to guests of the elite Marriott loyalty levels. There are two speeds of internet offered but we found no discernible difference in the two offerings. Guest Rooms offer very comfortable beds and the bathrooms offer separate tub and shower. Our suite was a “murphy bed” suite, which meant the chairs in the den portion of the rooms were two straight-back chairs, with no sofa. I suggest if you desire a suite, but do not need the Murphy bed itself, you specifically request a more traditional suite with furniture in the den. An odd piece of advice here: if you do not like snakes, do not venture into the two tiered lobby. It contains live snakes indigenous to the area on display. Hard to get this out of one’s mind that there are snakes in the hotel. Pool area is excellent for families with kids. And plenty of nearby activities including on-site golf and also near to the TPC Scottsdale golf club. Also 20 minute drives to multiple baseball spring training camps for the Cactus League. With regard to parking, I suggest using the valet. While somewhat expensive at $35 per day, the alternative self parking lot is not convenient to walk to and from. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would return with a better understanding of a few items mentioned herein. Good luck to each of you too!!

We are currently staying at this hotel with our 4 kids, ages 2-8. We have two ground floor rooms, and I highly recommend the ground floor as you can walk out, don’t have to worry about kids falling, and there is no club level or lounge on site. The kids are having a great time, getting $10 airbrush tattoos and $30 tie die t-shirts galore, but as a frequent luxury traveler and Marriott Bonvoy Titanium I feel like a visit to this hotel is an experience in self sacrifice and that I’m being nickel and dimed at every turn. The beds are comfy. The pool is under-serviced and under-staffed with surly waitresses. The crowd feels sold out, but the staff and hours feels like they’re shut down for the season (kitchen and bar stop serving at 4 or 5 pm, waiters seem like they have 20+ poolside groups each) Although there are many signs posted requesting guests do not reserve pool chairs ahead of time, there is no guest assistance in finding chairs, towels, and there is always a line out the door of people ready to run to reserve chairs. You legitimately can’t get a chair if you show up at the pool after opening- and as a family of 7, we were frequently relegated to a single chair in the blazing sun. I’m not sure what the girls at the front gate do- maybe they just run the cabanas? Service is also non-existent on the pool deck (3+ hours to even have a waiter come over, if at all.) I’m not sure what the resort fee even includes at this point. Driving range is an extra charge ($30/adult, $10/kid - compared to the nearby JW Marriott where it’s included in your stay), Flo Rider is an extra charge, there is NO kids club as advertised, and NO splash pad, very limited shade and cabanas are $850/day plus mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of the service you do or don’t receive. Housekeeping is good, JP at valet is a gem. Food at the pool is horrible, burnt pizza where the cheese was black that we asked to go back (we were told this is how it always comes out due to the oven) and packaged seeming guacamole that takes over an hour to arrive. On the contrary we had a fine breakfast at Nellie Cashman’s and very good lunch at Bristlebush at the golf club. The location is A+ if you’re looking for amenities like those located at Kierland Commons or Scottsdale Quarter. If you’re not a family with young kids who is willing to put their kids spring break wishes above their standards for service, quality and value, I would avoid this place. If you are looking for a last minute getaway in the sun and Florida is cold and rainy, as it was for us, then this may be your best bet. Long story short, you shouldn’t go out of your way to come here. And if you do come here, make sure have realistic 3-4 star expectations at a 5-star price.

Stayed 5 nights in 2 connecting rooms with wife and 2 children (15 and 12). We all loved the resort. The rooms are great with very comfortable beds. Excellent soundproofing. Never heard any other rooms. Grounds and common areas are clean and very well maintained. Great pool area including the adults only pool. Excellent location with many great restaurants right across the street at Kierland commons Possibly the best part of the resort is the staff. Post covid many hotels and resorts were/are short staffed. This resort seemed very well staffed and literally every member was smiling and helpful. Well done Westin! Keep up the good work.
