I ordered Taste of Philly for lunch today through DoorDash because they had a buy-one-get-one free deal, which was already a great value. The food itself was excellent — great flavor, fresh, and exactly what I was hoping for.

Unfortunately, my first order was stolen by the DoorDash driver who picked it up. DoorDash quickly fixed the situation and reordered it from the same restaurant.

When the replacement order arrived and I opened the bag, I found something that honestly brought tears to my eyes.

The team at Taste of Philly included a brownie for free with a handwritten note apologizing for what happened and thanking me for supporting their business.

They had no idea what’s been going on in my life recently, but that simple gesture completely changed my day. Someone took the time to show kindness to a stranger, and that meant more than they will ever know.

The food was fantastic, but what stood out even more was the care, loyalty to their customers, and genuine hospitality they showed.

I mean this as someone who has worked in the food service since I was 15 and know how easy and fast things can become dirty or just not tidy.
