I go to brother John’s with some frequency and it’s always pretty solid. The food portions are a touch small for the price but the quality is quite high. The alcohol selection is great but the staff could be a bit more knowledgeable about what they have when it comes to making suggestions.Overall a great place, give it a try if you’re around.

I ordered 1/3 chicken, vinegar slaw, and pit beans with burnt ends. My chicken was advertised as smoked. If it was it was not long enough. It was very disappointing and Luke warm. The vinegar slaw was plain shredded cabbage (no carrots) and kind of not flavored right. It lacked sugar I think. As for the pit beans, they weren't the flavorful beans one would expect from a BBQ joint. The burnt ends were little 3/8" cubes of meat that I could not identify. And in my opinion, they somewhat below average.Wheelchair accessibility: Barrier free entrance.

We are talking delish and the music,?❤️

Reasonably priced lunch specials, with some "quick" options (in and out within 30 minutes). Good tasting food, friendly staff. The only negative thing could be that when they offer live music it might get loud. Lunch time is good for getting a quick bite and enjoying conversation. We will go back on a Fri, Sat or Sun to check out the music.

From all the look of it before going, it looks like it was gonna be amazing that the southern aunties were gonna be in the kitchen. Now, not the case. The cornbread will dry your whole throat, and it came out cold butter just sat on the bread still hard and yellow. Seasoning needs to be a word mac and cheese keys rename mac and water, collards lacked any type of seasoning any type they could have just grabbed the lawrys from the local store. Had the nerve not to have no salt and pepper on the table. They need a seasoning class cause nothing tasted good, nothing. Let's pray for them, please. If they were going for southern cuisine, they missed by miles. Will never go back.

Like many other posters have said, I was shocked at the lack of customer service here. Every person we encountered had look of 'I'd rather be anywhere else.' It took us 25 minutes after being seated to get drinks. Took another 15 minutes for our order to be taken. Place was extremely empty for a Saturday evening (now I know why), no absolutely no reason for that. They were out of several items on the menu. Went with another couple and we both ordered their 'made from scratch biscuits with homemade maple butter.' Biscuits were tasteless hockey pucks that came with regular plain butter. Apparently the maple butter was another thing they were out of, although waitress didn't feel the importance to tell us that. Total waste. Brisket was fatty (as pointed out by other reviewers). The pulled pork sandwich was actually very delicious. If this place would focus on customer service..... maybe I'd go back. But medicore food AND terrible service.... forget it.

Not sure what to say other then this place was a big let down. They were out of everything from BBQ ribs to chicken and only had a few sides to offer - seemed like everything my guy asked for the girl was like "I'm sorry we are out of that!" Oh and please don't get me started on the server - she was nice but that's as good as it got - I mean yes she was new and had only been there a month I think she said but couldn't tell us about any of the food like how it was prepared or taste and could only manage one thing at a time - maybe not the best job choices for the girl. Needless to say we finished our drinks and had them bring our app. togo and won't be going back or recommending this place to anyone ... Or at least not this location. Last things 2 beers 1 soda, an app. and two side dishes were almost $100 so the prices are way too high for this quality of everything ....

This place is honestly just so hit or miss. I've eaten here 3 times, and it's either INCREDIBLE or genuinely awful. I ate here last night (3/21/2024) and the pork belly may have been the saltiest thing I've ever eaten. I was struggling to finish it. The time before when I ate here, everything was incredible. And the time before that, the brisket was some of the worst I've ever had.Not sure what's going on, I assume there's just a new guy in the kitchen who has no idea what he's doing. If you come here on a good night it's GREAT. If you come here on a bad night you're gonna struggle to finish your food. The service and atmosphere are top notch though
