Hubby quote "I want to go back to that place" says it all. I can't tell you the last time he said that about any kind of restaurant. We were in Tucson for an appointment and decided to Google "Mexican Cantina". Google sent us here. It looked a bit sketcy on the outside, but we decided to try it because some of the best Mexican food comes from sketchy looking places. It was a wonderful surprise. Not fancy, but really cute inside. Not the usual cheese enchilada/chile relleno combo (my go to) options, so I just asked our guy to surprise me something vegetarian. WOW! It was pretty and tasted great and so was Hubby's 3meat combo taco whatever plate. Hubby also had a draft beer. I had 2 margaritas which were generous and tasty! In addition it was so affordable we decided to over tip. We will definitely be going there again real soon. :-) FYI-They have a patio section and Happy Hours.

Had a delicious meal with wonderful service from Ella. Mentioned it was my mom’s 100 th birthday and what fun! Party hats for the table, singing, noise makers, dessert. What a wonderful memory! Btw, best food we had in Tucson!

This place is a literal hole in the wall! Sagging ceiling tiles, mis-matched furniture, vinyl table covers. Don't let that fool you!The food is beyond description! I had the three amigos tacos (chicken) totally loaded street tacos with rice and beans. The chips were so fresh! The salsa bar had 7 or 8 different salsas. Then...there was the margaritas! Holy cow! The prickly pear margarita with the spicy salt rim...nirvana!The only thing I wished was that I was closer to my hotel so I could have another margarita! The service was beyond first class. Our camarero (Casar) was personable, friendly and totally wonderful! It looks like they are in the process of moving. When I come back to Tucson, I WILL come back!!!

Service was amazing I loved Caesar he made us all feel so welcomed and knew the menu by heart! Come visit Cesar on your next visit to la botana with Caesar at the new location!! Leyda was also amazing and made us feel so welcome. Make sure to go to their new location on 1st ave and wetmore!
