The kids and I enjoy the food from Garlic & Chili. We've been customers for some time. Everyone's tastebuds are different but we love the food. The vegetables taste fresh, we don't find anything overly salty, boneless pork is actually boneless with no fat, and portions are good for us. We have never dined in, but it looks clean and the service is always friendly. We also like the prices. Highly recommend. Ample parking outside as it's located in a strip mall. Convenient location so you can pick up items in the other stores. Photos: Beef Broccoli Chow Mein, Braised Tofu with Vegetables, Diced Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Sweet & Sour Boneless Pork, and Wonton Soup (10 pcs).

Definitely a takeout type place, service is ok but food is legit one of the best in Vancouver if you like western style Chinese food like me. Better than all the places on Kingsway.

Stopped by this cozy, family-owned Chinese spot after spotting their lunch specials. The place is quite small, with only about 4 tables, but the service was incredibly quick, making it a decent option for takeout.Based on their recommendations, I went for the Spicy Schezwan Chicken and Hot and Sour Soup. While nothing made me go "wow," the food was above average and satisfying for the price of the lunch deal. The restaurant seemed like a popular local joint, and it's easy to see why. That being said, their regular menu seemed a bit on the pricier side compared to the quality of the dishes.Would I come back? Maybe to try something else from their menu, but I wouldn't go out of my way. All in all, a decent find but not a must-visit.

My favourite spot for Chinese takeout! The food is good, the portions are huge, and the owner is really friendly. Would definitely recommend if you're in the Brentwood area.

Nearly a decade ago, as a student at SFU, I discovered this gem of a place. It quickly became my top choice for Chinese food. Their lunch specials never disappointed, especially the Mongolian beef — so tender and flavorful. Today, 10 years later, I returned. To my delight, it’s still run by the same wonderful family. The little girl who once served our food is now a tall teenager. While the ambiance might carry a vintage charm, the delectable taste of their food and the heartwarming vibes remain unchanged. I can’t wait to come back!

Tried this spot out today for take out and I'm so happy I did!! The owner(s) is lovely and sweet, the portions are huge and the prices are super affordable. New favourite for sure :-)Vegetarian options: A good amount of Veggie and Tofu dishes.

Since the pandemic we have found the food much better in restaurant than take out. This is literally a hole in the wall with limited seating so eating in is literally an in and out kinda thing. We find the exact same dishes for take out does not have the same portion on meat compared to dine in. Sure prices have gone up but it's still cheaper than most decent Asian fare. Chili & Garlic still satisfies our szchezuan cravings.

Meeting up with some people I used to work with in Burnaby and they suggested Garlic & Chili. The positives are that is plenty of free parking as it is part of small strip mall in a residential area and they have lunch specials. This is small restaurant with only 4 tables. I opted for the chicken and cashews. It came with rice and a bowl of wonton soup. The broth in the soup was tasteless...the wontons were okay. The presentation of the chicken dish was nice but unfortunately it was very bland and tasteless. A person in my group ordered the szechaun chicken which looked so much better than what I ordered, and would probably try that if I was ever to return. The was no issue with the service. It was not the most positive of food experiences and I have no plans to return.

There are two other Chinese restaurants that are much closer to me that usually disappoint, I ordered take out last night, Sichuan beef, General Tao's chicken and a fried rice, everything perfectly cooked and tender, I added some drops of soy to the rice, left me wanting more, will probably be back tonight. The decor is very simple, the food is sublime.
