I consider myself to be a connoisseur of Apple Fritters, having sampled the vast majority of opportunities in Western Canada. These are the best. Hands down. Not too sweet or greasy, light, large (bigger than my hand), flavourful and cinnamon to apple is pretty close to perfect (I prefer stronger cinnamon but that's for me).Wheelchair accessibility: Level entrance, no auto door though.

we ordered a wedding cake , gluten free , months in advance . pictures were sent from the bride in Vancouver . when I spoke with the baker , I was assured , the baker would put some pretty flowers on the cake and cupcakes . when the cake was picked up , it had no topping , no flowers of any kind .it was just cupcakes with plain icing , a white cake with plain icing . needless to say , we were very disappointed . the bride's dad was told , "we don't do that , we don't do cake toppers . " not very happy , why ask for pictures and assure us they could do it , then they don't do it ? we paid a lot for cake and cupcakes with just plain icing . the florist here , scrambled to get a cake topper made .

On our way to San Josef Bay and we wanted to stop in at a bakery. The ham and cheese crossiant was delicious, really tasty cookies. Definitely worth the stop.

one time visit to Steiner, a 30+ year operation, as we left Campbell River on our way north. Delicious looking wide variety of pastries, breads, and cakes. Enticing lunch menu. Also a seating area for sipping and noshing. We chose two large croissants for sandwich making later and a “gotta have it now” apple fritter. I without fail will search out a local bakery everywhere in the world I travel, and I will say with zero hesitation that this still warm, cinnamony, fritter was right at the top of fritters/pastries I’ve ever enjoyed anywhere. Could not have been more perfect. If I had the time, I would have turned the car around gone back for another. I look forward to visiting the area again and enjoying another fritter or two and many more of this bakery’s selection of surely delicious items.
