I attended Brentwood College School a few years ago, and this was honestly the only place around the whole town where I really enjoyed the food, not to mention this was the only asian restaurant around. Their food is honestly very good, and I'm not saying this just because this was the only sushi place around. Even compared to other sushi restaurants in Victoria or Vancouver, their food is just as good, if not better. I have tried most of their menu, and there was not a single menu that I thought was bad. Not to mention, the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. One time, I visited just to ask for a little bit of red pepper paste that I could not find in the local grocery store, and the staff gave me a ton of it FOR FREE. It has been a while since I was able to eat here, and I honestly miss it so much. Thank you for the great food and memories!

We ordered the vegetable bento boxes and they were pretty awful… the vegetable roll was just chopped lettuce in a wrap, impossible to eat and no flavour. The rest of the box was pretty bad too. Miso soup was good, but service was meh and food quality wasn’t great or fresh.I also should mention our water glasses were dirty (lipstick on them)We won’t be backVegetarian options: Skip the vegetable bento - no good

Husband, daughter and I thought a sushi lunch would be a fantastic idea. We arrived to a not so busy lobby, and we're immediately seated to the left of the door. I'll say as a customer who gives fair chances, this place has let us down more than once. The temperature is always freezing. (Even when it's not -7 out) We were brought a pot of tea and cups, without a drink order being taken. Our waitress returned and asked for our orders. We ordered monkey brain, which had cold artificial crab not totally heated through. It was 2/5. Daughter got pork gyōza and gave it 1/5. Asked about the difference between crab roll and special crab roll. We were up sold to try the special crab roll, which literally comes with an entire soft shell crab. It ain't it. The millbay sushi platter is also a miss. Out of 6 rolls our family could only stomach three of the six. There was a roll that had rice, seaweed and deep fried fish skin in it? No sauce on top, no veg. It was a 1/5. And as if that wasn't bad enough... We ordered waters half way through to cleanse the palette. We were brought 3 glasses and a glass jug/carafe of water. We had to pour our own drinks which were filled with black floaties. I'm not talking one or two pieces of pepper that went rogue... Like dirty water.. Won't return to Mill bay sushi again.. Especially for $113.

It's a good sushi restaurant. A good atmosphere with attentive staff. The food was delicious. Overall, it was a nice experience! Although there are a few areas on where they could improve on. For example, they seated our group of 5 at a small table for 4, which made it cramped, which left not much space to put our plates. They could have given us a bigger table since the restaurant was nearly empty. Another thing to point out is that a part of our group got their food much earlier than the other part of our group. We still enjoyed our experience, but these are a couple of suggestions to help improve the experience. I would definitely eat there again!Parking: Right in front of the restaurant door

Visited on a saturday night at 7pm. We were extremely rushed to put our order in. We were repeatedly told the kitchen was closing soon and had to order everything now. Tried to order drinks and an appy, and asked for a couple minutes to decide on mains. The server looked hesitant and kept looking at her watch, saying the restaurant closes at 8pm, but the kitchen closes sooner. Made to feel very uncomfortable. We ended up walking out and not staying because of this atmosphere. We visited once before and the food is great, but once again were rushed out the door after eating.

The food was amazing. Just had one issue with the plating. Always keep the flavors separate. Tuna tataki should never have sushi on the same plate. The sauce for the tataki mixed with the rice on the sushi. Aside from that....
