“I’ve always been curious of this cafe, driving by it daily, and I am glad I did! We were given a very friendly welcome right when we walked in. One of the first things I noticed was how clean and neat everything was. The food was absolutely delicious! I said to my husband it tasted like when mom made it with love when you were a kid! For sure one of my new favs!“
“Lovely place to stop for coffee and a bite to eat. Food is prepared ahead and warmed - surprisingly tasty. Some gluten free availability. Excellent coffee, great view of Departure Bay.Bathroom was clean. Hand soap was, unfortunately, scented.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free available“
“I recently ordered takeout breakfast from this restaurant for a work team meeting, and it was a delightful experience. The food was not only delicious but also arrived on time for our early pick-up. Everyone on the team enjoyed the meal, and I would highly recommend it for any future catering needs. The inside of the new café has a fantastic ambiance, and I'm looking forward to visiting in person. The friendly service added to the positive experience, and I'll definitely be ordering for my meetings again. Overall, a great choice for both takeout and dining in!“
“We were lucky enough to be a 5 minute walk along the beach from the cafe when we stayed in Nanaimo for a month. It became our regular haunt for a bit of breakfast, morning cuppa or afternoon comfort break. Great place, great service and really professional and friendly staff. Good reliable choice of food and drink and it was a real pleasure to get to know the place. We made sure it was our last breakfast before our flight home. Sincere thanks for making us feel so welcome.“
“A lovely lil café right downtown! Great location, loads of buses stop just across the street, easy to get to. Always had a good experience with the coffee, the mocha is such a deep flavor and not overly-sweet! Tried their ginger cookies today and was blown away, amazing flavor. I love to just grab a drink, sit outside, and read a book, maybe do some people-watching or play on my tablet. A great way to spend a few hours.“
“Hidden away in the corners of Nanaimo, it’s no secret that Waffle Magic has some of the best golden circles known as waffles available to the public. One taste is sure to have you under the spell and wanting more, 10/10 in terms of service and food.“
“I love coming to this Tim Hortons! I go by just about every morning before work and I've had nothing but great service along with great coffee! The drive thru team (the one that works around 8:30am) are always so kind and cheerful. Thanks guys! :)“
“outstanding service! i live eastern US and called to order birthday cupcakes for a friend. They blew my expectations out of the water with the cute designs and even added a goody bag! if i’m ever in the area i’ll have to stop in and try the cupcakes for myself but my friend says they are delicious!“
“Been going to this location for years, always a great experience. Food and drinks are good, staff are friendly and quick with completing orders.Patio is a lovely place to read or people-watch.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian/vegan options and substitutions.Dietary restrictions: Lots of dairy-free and vegan options.Parking: Tons of free parking at the mall.Wheelchair accessibility: Store is accessible.“
“Was looking for an authentic Nanaimo bar in Nanaimo! My top 3 go-to's in Nanaimo were all closed on a Monday when they are supposed to be open per their hours, what can you do. Did a bit of searching and one site gave an honorable mention to Serious Coffee. Ordered a sweetheart latte (vanilla and cinnamon), meant to get the black forest, also had a Nanaimo bar of course and a carrot pineapple loaf frosted. Lets start with the good. The Carrot pineapple loaf was incredible. Didn't need the icing as the loaf itself was dense yet moist. Chock full of raisins, carrot but not a whole lot of pineapple. Amazing. The nanaimo bar left something to be desired. The bottom (coconut) layer was extremely dense, very coconuty. The custard was more grainy than smooth and silky and the top chocolate layer was the usual, chocolatey goodness. The latte was very subtly flavoured, I feel like the black forest would have been much more delicious. I won't be back as I've had better Nanaimo bars and coffee elsewhere, but like the site I read, honorable mention is about accurate. If everything else is closed this place will suffice. All 3 items costed $15 and change. Not bad in this day and age.“
“Stopped by this Cafe at Nanaimo Waterfront for coffee and indulged in a Caramel coffee muffin ?The medium roast coffee was excellent as well as the service . Was fairly busy and didn't have many sandwiches left .They have an outside seating area which is really good for looking out onto the water and relaxing ?“
“I enjoy coming to Blenz for a lovely Iced Chai Latte, lunch, snack and/or dessert, which are all delicious. I like the ambience of being in the middle of a mall, yet still able to have a conversation with the person(s) I am sitting with and can hear everything they are saying. I highly recommend this establishment as a place to spend some well-deserved downtime.“
“I love the feel and atmosphere of this cafe and that it's open consistently throughout the week. Service and setting is great. The menu and display options cover a good selection but quality of ingredients is not consistent which was disappointing (quesadilla with high processed cheese). When speaking to the server it sounds like they don't currently have a manager so orders are not consistent and this is not always the case, but it's suggest asking for specifics before ordering to ensure they are preparing a quality version of their menu. The soup, samosas, greens and dressing were fabulous.Wheelchair accessibility: Level and no curb entrance. Large accessible and beautifully decorated washrooms“
“I've only had coffee and Nanaimo bars here to date but like it very much. Some might question the ratio of top to middle layer in the bars, weighted heavily to middle, or the middle leaning more towards fluffiness than custardiness, but I'm good on those counts and the fact that the lower layer features puffed rice (I think) in place of the more traditional dessicated coconut is a win for me. Nice sort of Victorian-ish interior, too, and prime central location with lots of natural light.“
“it's really nice to be able to come get a drink before class or during breaks. the baristas are always fast and efficient, as well as super friendly. my only complaint is that you're not able to order ahead but that's totally understandableDietary restrictions: oat milk instead of reg.“
“Nice cozy place with very nice people, not just the staff, patrons as well. Incredible snacks, great hot/cold drinks of several types. The washrooms are also kept clean. There is also tables set up outside to enjoy the sunshine on nice days. Two thumbs up! ? ?Ps: The Carrot ? Cake ? is the best I've ever tasted.“
“Stopped in before they moved to Woodgrove, they were very busy getting ready for their big move but the lady (I’m assuming the owner) was very kind, patient and super knowledgeable! She was really lovely and guided us on everything we were Looking for! The prices were also very affordable, and the teas were delicious. Will definitely be back to support this business!!“
“Whenever we are travelling I always look for places to eat or have coffee that are above average.Bocca Cafe was rated high when doing a google search when looking for the best Nanaimo bars in Nanaimo and so we went and we’re not disappointed. We ordered the salted, peanut and regular Nanaimo bars to share with friends and they were all delish.Would recommend.“
“Very good coffee place with a very inviting atmosphere. The staff were great and friendly. The place was very clean and well kept.Parking is very spacious and numerous.Bus friendly as it's also near multiple bus route. There are multiple seats to take and even an outdoor sitting area.Drive thru is also viable and but beware it has a short pile up.“
“It was lovely. Grabbed an americano and purchased a new book. Friendly staff. Drink was wonderful. That being said…I love the people who go for a coffee and all they can do is complain about how long it took…these drinks are not “fast food” most of us can’t even pretend to operate the espresso machines but think it’s okay to criticize and complain about the time it takes…other than that you’re probably super good vibes“
“We love this place. They make the best cappuccino in Nanaimo. They also have a few gluten free muffins (occasionally). The ONLY reason I couldn’t give 5 stars, and the reason we don’t stop in more, is because too often there’s no available table, TOO many people with laptops sitting for hour or longer, nursing one coffee. Try doing like so many other cafes, charge for internet after 15min.“
