What a great little find in the harbor! We stopped by to check out the food and had to wait a little while (and were given a buzzer). We had the ceviche and halibut tacos and nachos. Totally delicious! Great environment given you can see the water and good music as part of the ambience. We’d go back for sure!
Whether you live in Nanaimo or are just visiting, if you want good Mexican food while enjoying the Nanaimo waterfront then this is the place to eat. It is small and seating is limited but it is worth it.I’ve enjoyed eating at Penny’s several times and either take guests or recommend it to them.Before or after you eat, enjoy a walk along the waterfront, admire the various boats and yachts, and for desert stop off at one of the nearby ice cream shops.Penny’s is always a relaxing...read full review

Short day trip to Nanaimo and was recommended to stop here to grab a quick lunch. Everything was really good. The server was super kind and friendly. The food was amazing too. We got the ceviche, chips and salsa, and chicken enchiladas (red sauce). We also got some iced teas to beat the heat. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Would absolutely visit again in the future when in town!
