Have been meaning to try this restaurant so finally did. First impression on entering is that this is a sad and joyless place. Suggest take-out if you want to try it. Ordered the wings, overpriced at $9.99 for 6 wings. They were pretty good, nice crunch, decent sauce, nothing to write home about.I ordered the "Shrimp Tackle Box". To say what I got looked nothing like the poster in the window would be a gross understatement (unfortunately I did not get a picture). There were maybe 8 tiny breaded shrimp, smaller than my baby finger, a biscuit and a small serving of mashed potatoes (that may have been mashed potatoes at one time, but not lately) which I ordered instead of fries. Instead of the overflowing box portrayed I could see the bottom of my box because in no way did this serving come anywhere near to filling it. It's a shame because the shrimp were actually quite tasty, but there should have been at least double the amount.Stingy servings all the way around, not worth the money.AND it took about 15 minutes to get our order, and this was at lunch time. Yes, everything was fresh but...

I have been to Popeyes 4 times now and this location is amazing, the workers are incredibly kind and fast paced, food is always very good and fresh every time. There is the nicest lady that is working there all the time and she’s so pleasant. It’s always so clean in there and a great atmosphere with tons of seating, my friends and I throughly enjoy eating there.Parking: Tons of places to parkKid-friendliness: Very kind to everyone regardless of age

To all chicken lovers out there. This by far is the best place for yummy food. I hav tried out Popeyes in other locations but this place rocks. Excellent service. Been to popeyes in the mainland and Nanaimo, but must say the service at the Hammond Bay Nanaimo is above par. My family and i visit this outlet regularly for the service. The honey garlic wings are a must try.
