“Great building, amazing beer, and super welcoming tap room. This is my favourite brewery in Nelson by far. One of the brewers took the time to explain the new Joyride Juicy Pale Ale (experimental hops and all) to us along with getting large ToGo cans of low production gems like Forgot the Rum made my inner beer geek smile!!”

“How Shang Sway Tea House is an absolute treasure — lovingly run by a sweet elderly couple for the past 15 years. It’s hard to believe that everything here is made without onion, garlic, or meat, yet the dishes are so flavorful, satisfying, and perfectly balanced!

“Some really nice and somewhat hard to find items in the deli. All of it looks great. Tomme de savoie cheese and the pepper salami were both delicious. Sandwiches are good too.”

“I was visiting Nelson this summer, such a beautiful smaller town. After a day of hiking and a nice evening dinner, we wanted something sweet. We decided to try out Gina’s Gelato. It did not disappoint. With free samples of any flavor (and they’re all delicious). It was so hard to choose. It’s a cozy little spot with a retro look and feel. And Gina is the friendliest person you’ll meet. A must try if you are in Nelson. I suggest going every day, that way you can try all the flavors. I will definitely be going back when I go through Nelson”

“This is definitely a the best ice cream shop in town! I love coming here it refreshes me and since it’s so hot out I will come here everyday. I got the Sour Watermelon it is my favourite! They have awesome special cones with cereals and chocolate on them. There is an awesome peach drink which will definitely refresh you in the hot summer heat. I love this place definitely coming back here so much I will tell all my friends about this awesome place”

“I’m glad I ended my night and trip here. Funny little entrance way. And you walk to the basement and into a small room that fits 20ish people. I ordered my Mezcal cocktail. It was delightful. Balanced, smooth and unique.
I had two Medicare cocktails in Nelson prior, so this made up for those.”

“Acorn and Oak was the perfect solution for my husband and I to be able to both partake in the full evening at a wedding. Arranging the care for our daughter was a breeze. They catered services to meet our needs and provided advice and offered ideas to solve logistical challenges. Service was professional, she was kind and most importantly became quick friends my 20 month old daughter. I highly recommend Acorn and Oak and if you’re thinking about getting childcare for your kid or a group of kids at an event, you can’t go wrong here!”

“My wife and I are regulars at Jackson's Hole..we stop there every time we go to Nelson and it never disappoints. The food is always perfect and the service is top notch. Our two favorite servers Kyla and Sarah always go above and beyond to make our visit the best. Clive the owner is a great guy and is always great to visit and chat with. The atmosphere is very comfortable and welcoming. We would highly recommend this restaurant.”

“I used to come here a loooot for Hot Choc but recently tried the Nelson fog (which is just a superior London Fog). Drinks are always 10/10 and idk if he is cheaper than other stores (not a local) but he for sure isnt expensive.
Also if you so wish you can talk to him about anything and get great conversation with your drink.”

“Nice breakfast/brunch/lunch cafe. The food wasn't haute cuisine or anything, but it was tasty and homey. It's more of a classic diner, which was what I was looking for. Service was friendly and fast. I'd go there again.”

“Best sweet snack around! They also don't have a ton of garbage in them, if you have any little ones running around they are going to love these. You might think they are a tad more expensive than other cupcakes but you pay for quality here, well worth it. Give them a try!”

“I had the most delicious cake at my friends house the other day from Cake Betty. It was so wonderful that I feel compelled to write a review. Today I went to Cake Betty with another friend who bought the most beautiful small cake for a birthday gift. The owner gave us each a cupcake to enjoy. It was the best cupcake I’ve ever eaten - white cake with butter icing and a little bit of caramel sauce. So delicate and satisfying - I could have eaten three of them :)The bakery is so cute - like a tiny bakery in London, or the West Village. A lovely historical building with a sweet little store front. Go to Cake Betty - you will not be disappointed:)”

The food is tasty & amazing! The server's are amazing very hard workers. & the same back staff the kitchen. I highly recommend Leo's there pizza great tasting great crust, and all dishes are tasty. “Great food and service! The cocktail list is interesting and creative. I had the Marlin Brando. Sweet and tart deliciousness. They have a lunch special that sounded really good but I chose the Yum-Son noodle bowl. The meat was done perfectly and the sauce and other “stuff” was fresh and tasty. My boyfriend had the yellow curry. Also excellent! My only negative was the tip prompt on the pos terminal started at 22%.... I think that’s an industry trend though.”

“Had Brunch today. I tried the eggs Benny and my husband had the breakfast poutine. Today was the first time I have ever tried egg Benny and it was fantastic. I'm super picky about eggs and they were cooked perfectly. Thanks for a delicious meal. My husband also enjoyed his meal.”
