“Have had sandwiches and baking during the day before and all was wonderful. The porchetta sandwich was ahmazeballs. Finally got in for dinner tonight. Absolutely top shelf experience. The service was attentive, knowledgeable and subtle. I had the ling cod croquette appetizer: texture super smooth and the pickle sauce was perfect. For a main I had the rolled turkey with rhubarb, fiddle heads and turnip. Beautiful plating and the dish was delicious. The rhubarb was very subtle and tender and turkey was juicy and flavourful. Desert was the brûlée tart with rhubarb sorbet. Again delicious. If only we lived closer this would become a frequent special event restaurant. 100 percent, you should try it. If you are heading to the ferry, try and take the time to sample this hidden gem.”

I highly recommend this wonderful family owned business. Outdoor space is lovely with some cornhole and Jenga thrown in. So worth a quick drive from Victoria. Don’t miss some great cider!”

“My husband & I recently enjoyed a beautiful evening celebrating our anniversary as a party of six. We were greeted with a warm welcoming reception and treated like family and seated outside in an elegant garden terrace overlooking the ocean, with beautiful flowers, formal table settings, romantic lighting, soft music & perfect ambiance.

The service was excellent, Ben took such good care of us and was very engaging. What makes this more of an experience than just fine dining is that there is no rush, unlike other “fine dining” restaurants that have multiple seatings. The table is ours for the entire evening, which seems to end far too soon.

We absolutely love the French cuisine with an extensive menu for every palate, as well as a never ending wine list. There are selected five course dinners to choose from if unsure of what to order that Chef Pierre has put together as a well as featured selections. Since we have been visiting the Chalet for many years we’ve tried just about everything, so sometimes customize our own five course meal. I always start with the lobster bisque, highly recommend! Since we were celebrating our anniversary Ben brought us a beautiful selection of complementary chocolate truffles. We have been clients of the DCC for many years & always look forward to our next visit as it never grows old.

“I meant to post this review ages ago. I purchased an Americano at Fresh Cup over a year ago & I was struck by how courteous & professional the two employees were. They demonstrated real skill as they calmly filled a myriad of orders. They managed the volume well & worked together respectfully. I ordered an iced Americano & the barista made it perfectly (not too much water so it was a good, strong pour). These types of service sector jobs can be tough & I was impressed with their good work. The coffee was delicious too 👍”

“We had dinner at Alpina Restaurant at Villa Eyrie Resort and were completely captivated by the breathtaking panoramic views of Saanich Inlet, framed by rolling mountains, lush greenery, and endless blue skies. Between the spectacular scenery and the outstanding cuisine, it was hard to decide which was more memorable!

We began with the rye sourdough bread, served with whipped butter and an apricot-cardamom butter. It was a simple yet elegant combination that we had never experienced before and absolutely loved.

For our mains, we enjoyed a roasted rainbow carrot salad with greens, feta, grains, and other flavorful toppings that made every bite delicious. The pesto pasta, finished with candied pistachios and a generous burrata, was an incredible combination of creamy, nutty, and herbaceous flavors. The seared tuna was perfectly cooked and served with fresh greens, while the grilled lingcod was flaky, moist, and delicately flavored, accompanied by tender beans cooked with tomatoes and other delicious ingredients.

Dessert was equally memorable. The **Les Rochers** was a rich, decadent chocolate pastry, while the **Tarte aux Myrtilles** featured a crisp tart shell filled with berry compote, topped with fresh blueberries and dollops of berry cream. The highlight, however, was the pistachio tiramisu. Our server assembled it tableside using ladyfingers, coffee, whipped cream, pistachios, chocolate, and other ingredients, turning dessert into a fun experience. The portion was enormous and easily enough for our family of four to share.

Outstanding food, impeccable service, and one of the most spectacular dining views on Vancouver Island made this a truly unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.”

“My wife and visit the gardens each summer and usually treat ourselves to the high tea. This year we felt the sandwiches were a bit bland and it appeared the menu was unchanged from 2025. Service was pretty good although the tea was not as hot as it could have been. Enjoyed the garden view from the outside terrace but be aware there can be wasps. Expensive for what you get but it is a nice treat!”

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendliest hostess (I sadly didn’t catch her name, but she was so welcoming), and the atmosphere instantly felt warm, nostalgic, and just happy. Our server Chelsea was the cutest vibe ever! She fit the place perfectly. Super friendly, personable, and made the whole experience feel really personal and relaxed. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and it shows. The food? Banging. Great prices and seriously delicious. I had a roasted chicken wrap with tzatziki and a bunch of fresh veggies, plus a side salad, and it was SO good. Fresh, flavourful, and filling without being heavy. And the little details?? Instead of the usual mint at the end, they give you a piece of retro bubble gum. Such a fun, nostalgic touch that totally fits the diner’s vibe.
