Good service, delicious food (slightly on the greasy side).

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE If you can look past the small-portion-size-to-relatively-large-price ratio and cash-only stance; the quality of the food is worth the price of admission! They may have the best-tasting congee in town and the other dishes aren't bad either... === 2. FOOD All of the dishes when dining in are on the small side; however, the quality is on point! - Sautéed Green Beans with Minced Pork: crunch of freshness, not too salty! - Stir-Fried Flat Noodle with Prawn and Scrambled Egg: good portion of large shrimp and great noodles! - Sautéed Pork Chop: nice and meaty, nearly all boneless for easy eating! === 3. SERVICE Seen to work well in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. For all of my visits, it's worked well in English for takeout and dine-in. The speed of the dishes coming out of the kitchen though, can seem a little slow. === 4. ENVIRONMENT Nice, clean, and bright enough to see that was (re)modelled sometime in the last five years or so. Small and large groups alike would work out well in here (outside of the pandemic) as will wheelchairs and baby strollers. There is a parking lot for the complex out front, but it does get fairly full and busy during dinner times.

Very impressed with this place. Ordered 5 dishes for my mom and brother. All of them were top quality and good value. Service is great and very friendly. Will definitely return

My friend and I went to Kongee Dinesty on a day they were short staffed, but that didn't stop our servers from treating us so kindly!! Food (fish with added century egg congee; deep fried squid; donut; rice roll) was prepared quickly and was very subtly flavourful (in a good way) :)

Come here for the congee and pork liver.Everytime I'm visiting, gotta come for it.

The food was good. However, when it came to payment this place only takes cash but there's no indication at the entrance that this place only accepts cash.

Great selection and quality is consist amongst the items we ate today. We had: Siu Mai - large and succulent. Very fresh and well flavoured BBQ bun - warm and fluffy Fish congee - lots of fish slices in it and a generous amount of roasted peanuts Soy sauce fried noodle - solid and tastes just like those from Hong Kong Sticky rice - great flavour and perfect consistency Fried Chinese Donut - Like!!! Really good Durian Mochi - deep fried, crispy but not overly greasy and it is SO delicious. Not overly sweet. Will definitely re-order What a great little place with so many delicious dishes. Can't wait to try your dinner entrees next

As a Cantonese restaurant, their service is actually very good. Preserved egg congee is definitely better than seafood congee.

I have been craving liver congee (don't judge), for as long as I can remember, because it's so hard to find. Well I'm happy to say I was finally able to satisfy this craving today at Kongee Dinesty. We ordered the following:Pork Liver & Slice Pork Congee - this congee was so much better than what I remember. The congee was flavourful, the liver & meat was tender & I love the addition of the peanuts. I always find congee lacks texture but the peanuts give it a nice contrast. It really exceeded my expectations & hit the spot.Chinese Doughnut - this for me is a must when having congee. It was light, flaky & melt in your mouth. I love putting it in the congee and allowing it to melt into this gooey soft puddle of yum. At $3.95 though it is very overpriced especially for what you get.Steamed Pork & Mushroom Dumplings - these Siu Mai were huge & packed with flavour! They were one of the best I've had in a long while.Pan Fried Rice Rolls in XO Sauce - this was carb loading heaven. Again it was extremely flavorful (a common thread amongst all the dishes we had). The rice rolls had a nice chew to them, everything tasted fresh & it had a subtle heat to it which was pleasant.Overall this is a nice little restaurant with friendly service. They take COVID-19 seriously. Even the chefs in the hot steaming kitchen can be seen wearing facemasks. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because their online menus are out of date. They no longer have their breakfast & lunch combos, so expect to pay quite a bit more. They're not open at 9am as their website says. In other words don't rely on their website giving you any current information. They are also cash only, but they do accept e-transfer. I'm hoping they bring back their old menus post covid-19. It would definitely make it a more affordable meal out.@inspiringfoodie
